Whenever I try to start up frozen throne battle.net for my new computer I get this ...

"There was an error writing to your hard drive while trying to download a file from Battle.net. You may need to free some space. Please check your hard drive and try again."

Anyone know what that's all about?

I tried reinstalling, seemed to work the first time I went online, but when I attempt to log on again I get the same message. Also, there is no way my hard drive needs to free some space since its nearly 90% empty, so it must be something else ... any thoughts?

A little more specific: if you are using windows XP or higher, then your disk should be ntfs formatted. And since you reinstalled, it might be caused by battle.net trying to patch your game. I would advise to manually dl the patches from a site like gamespot and then install them, it might help. Also, the latest versions require you to copy some stuff from your cd to your hd for the no cd fix. Have you done this already? It might cause the error on battle.net, not sure though.

All I got is that you need to delete some things.

Make sure you have admin access. If you don't, it's gonna block b.net's ability to update.

There's a program called Vista Tweaks that will do all the nasty registry editing for you. You'd have to try pretty hard to fudge up your comp with it.

It edits the registry to do what exactly?

    All kinds of things

    Disable UAC.
    Tweak IE more in depth
Allows access to the actual Aero theme.
    Speeds things up (Multi-processor boot)
Allows you to use better RAM caching.

    Lots of things.
