Now I got your attention, please proceed reading this quite serious topic. This isn't space junk.

So about the hypocrite thing. You guys might have noticed that Obama frequently bashes gaming consoles. It's corrupting young people, blah blah, parents must take it away, older people should do usefull stuff, blah blah.

In most cases, he blames the xbox 360. If that machine is supposed to corrupt the Amarican people, then WHY THE **** did he advertise in an xbox exclusive game?
I mean, we all saw the billboard in Burnout Paradise. He bought that advertising space.

If gaming is bad for you, then I think he's a hypocrite for using such a medium to get more votes. I mean, he might as well give crackheads their fix for free, and then tell them to vote for him while they're high. ;)

    What do you guys think?

Hahahaha! Am I the only one who realises what a nice self-ownage Aurora performed right now?

    Anyway, Aurora, citation needed.

Erm, citation? Google Burnout Paradise Obama advertisement. And for citations on Obama himself, it's not that much effort to watch his speeches. How can I quote stuff he has never written down himself? :s

    Also: what self-ownage?

So there's not a single person here who regulary watches the news? That's just sad. It takes all the fun out of making this type of topics. I'm not going to site sources for stuff you can google. I simply refuse to dumb down topics to the point where it doesn't take any effort to participate. That always results in people who only know half the story, and low level responses of a single centence.

*sigh* Perhaps I chose the wrong forum to discuss this, lol. So far for my attempt at getting a real discussion going in this lounge again.

Well I am sorry. Obama bashing on video game consoles usually doesnt make it into the world news and for someone who does not live in the US it might not be very easy to catch that kind of news.
If you want serious discussion then citing the sources is an absolute essential especially when the people ask you for it.

I live in Holland and just happen to be interested in politics. That, and the fact that the biggest Dutch news site is currently reporting it. I'm quite centain that this is also the case for other countries.

Further, in the time it took you to ask me to cite sources, you could have easily found many yourself. Please stop preventing serious people from reacting by trolling my thread.

i stand by Higgs. It doesnt matter how easy it is to google something. Thats not the point. The point is to appear serious and then people will take you seriously. One way to appear serious is to link to the material you would like to discuss.

I find it interesting, but I dont own an Xbox(360) and likely never will, so I don't have much of an opinion about it. I'll stick with Nintendo.

I personally have more issues with "soccer moms" saying the Wii Zapper will train kids to kill or that the DS wireless communication(pictochat) allows child molesters to talk to your kids while on the road or in the mall.

    For example: http://blog.nj.com/parentalguidance/2007/09/what_do_we_think_of_wii.html

Wait, did you just decide for me what point I'm trying to make? Weird.

And Eon, I think you're right. Still, I find it more disturbing when people use bleutooth to send perverted pictures. Everywhere you look are cell phones. Much harder to spot then an old man with a DS. Although those are pretty common nowadays with those brain trainers.

Oh well, I'm just going to wait for the first person to sue Microsoft for this. They'll find a way, and it's no doubt going to be hilarious if it happens.

But for now, my clock says it's 3am. See you guys tomorrow.

Well since some people are too lazy to google something for his/her self I'll go ahead and post the sources you demand. Here's one talking about Obama's advertisement in Burnout Paradise.

As for the against video games part. All I've found so far is that he states that the reason kids in America are failing is because we watch too much t.v. and play too many video games.

    Anyway, you what they say.

Where politicians are concerned, when all's said and done, a lot more is said than done.

One way to filter out people who know nothing about the topic and would just post "hm, interesting" and spoil the thread is not to link to the material.[/ot]

Are you saying that Bush deserve another office term in his life? So we can witness the collapse of the United Nation?

I always find this amusing to say the least. The same thing happened with Bush, in beginning everyone loved him. I mean the same people that now belittle Bush and Obama are the same ones who voted for them. I remember when the election and everything was still going on and people called me crazy and ignorant for saying that if Obama got elected he wasn't gonna change much or be this savior everyone thought he was gonna be. A similar matter happened with Bush, shortly after 9/11 everybody was pro Bush and said he was gonna lead America to triumph and all know what happened later.

I mean if the American people are gonna be this stupid and fickle, we deserve what we got. Thats one reason I didn't vote this election because I knew that Mccain or Obama wasn't gonna be much different no matter which one we got.
