Those little altered ships from Star Wars V, in the battle for Hoth, the ones the rebels piloted? What the hell is up with them having two pilots, but only able to fire lasers straightforward? What's the use of the second pilot if not for aiming the guns?
The second crew member operated the harpoon? (Which would probably make more sense replaced with a swivelable blaster cannon, in most situations)...
Obviously, the developers gave little thought of the impractical nature of the 'two man snow speeder'. (or whatever it's called) No wonder so many of those rebel speeders were defeated in the face of several AT-AT's?
It's called an A-wing. Also, I thought that the guy in the back was a navigator or something? Anyway, there were plenty of AT-ST's as well. The AT-AT version was only there to take out the shield generators. (because the captain dropped out of hyperspace to soon they couldn't directly do an orbital bombardment)
what the hell was up with the captain dropping out of hyperspace to soon anyways? He was piloting the executor, how does one get that position and keep it long enough to lead an assault if he does stuff like this.
rather overly stupid. Ion cannon ftw? God, i wish they'd make a movie with Thrawn, so we'd finally get an attempt at a tactical battle
To bad movies 7, 8 and 9 will probably never be made. (it seems there is a script already, google ftw)
@ Snowspeeder question - The Snowspeeder is actually a retrofitted cargo vehicle. Basically, they put guns on a glorified ATV. The harpoon was to tow goods at low speeds, slightly above ground level. The second "gunner" was used to ensure the harpoon stuck and to help the crates around obstacles. The Rebel Alliance basically grafted low-draw laser cannons on them, turned the repulserlift up to eleven, and gave the Empire the finger. @ Too soon hyperspace drop out - Traveling close to celestial bodies (planets, moons, suns) at hyperspace speeds is dangerous. You can either crash into them and boom you're dead, or be slingshotted in a completely different direction due to centrifigul force. Which is uncool. Therefore, when piloting a ship that carries literally thousands of troops, the officer opted for a "better safe than exploded" policy and dropped out too soon. It gave the Alliance time to escape, yeah, but it was still a huge blow to the Rebels.
