I know about global warming and all, but does anyone know why it's getting colder every day here? It's April and the average temperature's like high 50's. It's ridiculous! It's not even near to coast or anything at all. I don't remember it ever being this cold in April. Anyone else have the same problem.?

We've got the coldest April in about 77 years here in Australia, but that's not to do with global warming/cooling. Chances are that it's because El Niño is coming to an end and La Niña may be taking effect resulting in colder and more rainy weather. You've also got to keep in mind that climate change doesn't necessarily mean that absolutely everywhere will have an increase in temperature. Changing temperature alters the courses or flows of ocean or atmospheric currents which messes up all the weather systems and patterns. In fact, this isn't really related, but if global temperatures continue to rise then it could trigger the release of a huge body of cold water to be released into the north Atlantic or Pacific, I forget which, which has the potential to disrupt the ocean currents that help to distribute heat to other parts of the world, triggering an ice age. It just shows that there are so many things that have to be accounted for so just because we're supposed to be in the middle of an increase in global temperatures, it doesn't mean that; A) everywhere has to have record high temperatures, and B) it's going to stay like that.

Supposedly If it gets much hotter it will disrupt the gulf stream. Since the gulf stream is what brings heat to Europe it will get colder in France and Britain.

    Anywho its getting hotter here

It's not just that one current that will get effected though. Even if the gulf stream is the only one directly effected by the catalyst, the disruption of the gulf stream will disrupt other ocean currents. I've heard from numerous sources that it has the potential to trigger an ice age.

How long could it take if it's actually going to happen?

Yeah, well, weather conditions tend to be dependant on temperatures so that's fairly obvious.

I'm not sure exactly. I heard it all a year or so ago and from what I can recall the actual release of this huge body of cold water, it was explained as kinda being like a reservoir of cold water held back by an ice dam so when the ice melt it will unleash all the water, could potentially happen in the next few years, could be anywhere between five and a hundred or so, but I have no clue how long it would take to effect all the currents. That is, if it does.

People thing that global warming means that everything gets warmer. That is not true. Global warming means that the global weather gets f**ked up.
(Unscientific conclusion which doesnt match with my usual posts - I know - but its true.)

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about the El Nino part, but trust me, I know how climate gets f*cked up, not just warmer. My guess is that because I'm near a large body of water, the Pacific Ocean, and because it's the part where the cold currents are flowing, it's dropping temperatures. It probably has to do in some part with melting ice caps, but still, I'm just pissed because I'm freezing my arse off here.

I knew I should've moved to San Diego when I had the chance.

Been a ***** of a summer here, freezing as.

My toes are literally cracking because they're like 10degrees...

I'd rather cold though, hot is far too overated.

Here it's just plain weird, one day it's cold and raining, on the next one it's warm and sunny. It shuffles like that every day or few now

Meee, it's just polish climate. Changing very quickly. Our climate is inluanced by north cold air, and southern hot dry air. At least I heard so....
