Lately it seems members in general and mods even (including myself) have been a bit lax on the rules. Well, one caught my attention (thanks Chef) that I forgot about!

*"Offensive language, personal attacks, or being abusive to other members will result in a warning and mineral penalty the first time round, and a BAN the following time. Treat others how you would like to be treated. "*

Things have kinda barreled down as far as regulating these rules goes since sc2forums has been gone. But I urge members and mods alike to start cracking down.

If anyone sees this going on, please PM me or another moderator to do something about it. No more with this 'senior members getting extra privileges'. So this is a fair warning to ALL MEMBERS whether you think you're justified or not, don't use insults. If you're getting upset walk away from the keyboard. Have a nice day and play nice.

I never said senior members should get "extra privileges". I am sorry if my thread and user group has made people think this way.

No one is exempt from the rules. Except me for realizing this, haha just kidding.

As senior members, we should know better. That doesn't seem to be the case. Though it should be.

Rule 11 has always been my favourite by the way, so much freedom.

 

Eh.

The Lounge is usually the culprit, but if I do see anything I'll drop a report or PM.

...Even if I don't visit too often.

 

Thank you, Kurai for bringing this to attention. If everyone, including myself would pay more attention to these it would make this place a lot more funner, friendlier and overall more enjoyable to be apart of.

I also see a lot of people not really paying attention to the equiette of trying to make constructive, intelligent and thought posts and avoid one liners. Save that kind of stuff for the chat room or space junk. I highly suggest making an effort to avoid making entire posts with just things like "lol thats funny" as well.

Whats kinda sad is that most of this stuff is basic ettiquite for basic social interaction. You shouldn't have to read the rules to know how to act.

You shouldn't act on a forum differently than if you were interacting face to face. If you troll in real life that's kind of sad.

 

People do it though. I've had it happen to me.

 

Unfortunately some people are just assholes. Regardless you shouldn't be an ass on the forums just as you shouldn't be an ass in person.

Anyway, yeah. it should be common sense

 

The thing is, this is the Internet so people think they can act anyway they want on a message board such as this. That however is not the case and while using these discussion boards you should use correct English and be polite as possible. Please save the improper english and "Internet speak" for chat rooms, space junk, etc.

I am also seeing a lot of one liners or single word posts in the "Two Years" thread in the Lounge which shouldn't be the case because it goes against the etiquette and senior members should know better which i will post below.

"Would members please post constructively. Put some thoughts and intelligence into the posts you make. Try to minimize meaningless, pointless, chit-chat posts. These useless posts gives the forum a messy look."

 

That was so obvious it was painful to see. It's still around, albeit at a smaller scale, regardless of whether your yourself see it or not.

Dark the privileges are a point that's been raised several times, long before your thread or group was created.

As for the thread, I think I got a bit carried away with people belittling the animal kingdom and this whole "long live humanity everything else perish" attitude made me sick. The manner was not appropriate, I agree.

Anyway. I'll see if this will be enforced in the future. I've been here long enough to have my doubts

Judging by the 'too' in your post, Kurai, I think you misread my post; top that with the fact that I don't even have the privileges to enforce it, yes, I think someone missed a word

 

You can still report, and you're a member of hyperion, you're a staff member. Though you can't directly do anything about it, taking charge certainly can't hurt.
