Well since we have a topic about the origin of you screen name why not ask about your avatar.

Obviously some will be straightforward like gasmaskguy's avatar but others (like mine) are not connected to our names.

I would like to begin by saying this My avatar used to be a Klingon Bird of Prey (B'Rel class).
That was before WWI 2007 in Korea. As soon as Starcraft2.com went up I snatched the zealot artwork and put For Aiur at the top (using paint the first time) since the Protoss is my favorite race and I like the fervor of the zealots

Also a funny fact the first place I used the zealot av was EA's C&C 3 forum (hows that for irony?)

Lol, I made the Twilight Archon my avi since I think it's the coolest unit in the entire game, and so as soon as the concept art pics were up, I photoshopped them to fit the avi frame.

Hey, even though Zealots don't have ears doesn't mean they can't appreciate rawkin' tunez.

    Re: Origin of you avatar

Have you ever wondered why I don't have a signature?

My avatar is based on a doodle I drew about three years ago. I was drawing squares on the back of the face card of a pack of note cards and turning them into little flag-symbol things. I am not sure why I was drawing them, maybe I was trying to establish my personal symbol? Maybe I just locked onto it and called it my own? I'm not sure, but whatever it was, I ended up using it to identify with me.

It was the sort of thing I ended up writing on school papers, along with my name. On one, I even forgot to name it, but the teacher was able to identify it based on the fact that I was putting the symbol on everything (or maybe he just recognized my handwriting... at any rate, I am sure that if it had had been a blank sheet of paper with just this, it would have been connected to me.) It has since undergone several iterations (as my ability to use Photoshop increased) with the most recent change being the addition of a second oceanic shelf and the change of the space in the background from black to orange/yellow. This increased the "personal" touch because my favorite colors are green, orange, and blue, and until the change orange had been left out in all but the most deformed versions of the symbol.

Now, of course, this avatar has some fiction behind it as well. It is "officially" the symbol for a fictional race of scientists and engineers known as the Astran. The symbol is sort of their flag, and is named the Astran Signet.

The round part symbolizes their homeworld, Alsolia, with the star representing their primary star, Dornhoc. On top of that, the ocean/land line is angled in such a way that the planet appears to be "looking at" or "focused on" the star. This is supposed to symbolize the races' attitude towards knowledge and the unknown. They seek the unknown, and strive to master it bring it into the known. As a result of this attitude, as well as strong standing with the largest trade empire in the known galaxy, the Astran are on the bleeding edge of technological advance, and have some absolutely ridiculous technologies.

In connection with this symbol, in some other places online I go by Astran instead of 10-Neon.

I made mine by myself from deep sea fish photo in 90*90 with lighting eye animation. But this site support only 70*70, so animation dissapeared, but I really don't care :)

My avatar is a static picture of a Zealot wireframe from SC. Should you be seeing things, consult your psychiatrist.

It's from my love for Zealots <3 ;D

Current is Gargantulihc from Kingdom of Loathing (which is AWESOME by the way and you all should try it ;p), my usual (to which I'll return in few days) is Red Mage from nuklearpower.com and 'Don't judge me!' is one of his lines. I've no idea why I chose Red Mage over Black Mage though -.-

I also used to have Cloud from Advent Children for most forums and some misc ones.

I thought that skull looked familiar. Kingdom of Loathing is really hilarious, although playing it does start to feel like a grind after a while. =/

    Re: Origin of you avatar

I just wanted to find an avatar and I found this. I bet you know where it's from. It's a bit bad image, but I shall look for better one. I'll go now looking.

Edit: Didn't find better so I shall wait for new screenshots
