So I got done reading a couple days old new article talking about this family that is suing a school district. What could they of done that was so horrible that they need to pay? Apparently in Physical Education, the teacher was playing dodge ball against all the kids in the class. While playing the game one of the kids got hit in the gonads with the dodge ball. The family took him to the hospital where they said every thing is fine and no damage is done. Now the family suing the school district and the gym teacher saying that PE class damaged there kid mentally. He doesn't want to go back to school now,so they feel that the teacher should be fired and the school should pay because PE damages kids minds. This isn't the first case I've heard of, of a family suing because of Physical Education class. I just want to ask all of you on this forum, does PE class really damage you so much? Did it really cause s much mental stress that it damages us so we can't live a productive life?

Yes, wear one of those things, don't like it, deal with it, your fault.

That kid should be forced to run several marathons non-stop to learn about being a silly douche.

Maybe it's a sign, jeffri. Maybe the people up there have something in their minds.

As for the topic if someone gets depressed from PE that person needs to consult the school's psychologist.

A psychologist can only give so much advice for school related depression at such a young age. Assuming that this is middle school and elementary that is. The problem lies within the the child's peers, those who bully usually have psychological problems themselves. To fix the problem completely would be difficult since you would have to call in many others.

If the gonad's thing was an accident, the kid probably suffered something something traumatic and learned to be afraid of school (Didaskaleinophobia). If so, that kind psychological help would be bit easier. If he doesn't want to go back to school because kid's were being mean all his life, and being hit in the balls was the last straw, that's a hard thing to fix.

I was hit in the balls lots of times and used it as a manly gesture for standing right back up in elementary. In middle school, I dreaded PE because my stature was quite short and my school consisted of thugs and gangsta wannabees. I could understand if peer humiliation + physical damage scared the kid off.

    OH

I forgot to answer. No PE isn't bad for kids. Someone is going to have problems with something, somewhere no matter what.

Just to let you guys know. In the article I read, the boy was 8 years old. I feel just like you guys that PE isn't bad. Besides in dodge ball you dodge, if you don't get out of the way then you get hit. You'll be surprised how many other comments I read on the papers website where people wrote in saying PE should be banned because it hurts kids self-esteems. Like what Aurora experts can't figure out why kids are getting more obese. The problem is that we get rid of things like PE. It reminds me of a private school that got shut down because it had a class where kids learned to plant gardens. The kids actually got on their hands on knees and worked with tools. A girls grandparents got upset, sued the school and shut it down because they felt that was too much hard work for kids to learn.

More parents are getting stupider each generation...

If you got hit in the balls and the class made fun of you, sure go figure, its funny!
I'm surprised they took him to the hospital.
Even now the parents are giving kids antibiotics to kill the common cold!
give them an apple instead of that slurpy or a orange instead of that burger.

I think parents think that they're kid has marbles for an immune system and that they're gonna die if they snivel a bit.

As for the gonads, he's 8 years old? why would he be depressed, i'd laugh it off instead, and suing the school?
i know some Parents who would sue a teacher for yelling at them because they didn't hand in homework.
how much more stupid could you get :(?

Rojo hit the subject in the balls. The parents play a great deal in why some kids get their problems at a young age.
The "Oh yeah, blame the parents" excuse is stupid in some situations.

In some cases, it IS the problem. Dragon God is right, there is a problem with being too loving and too protective at some age in life. And there is a problem with being too neglectful and forcing your children to be too independent too much. Depending on the age, is how you take care of a child and reduce chances of mental problems or clinglyness.

PE in some schools is as useless as celebrating weight loss with an enormous feast. At my schools, we were provided with PE teachers as lazy as Snorlax. They would tell us to play a sport, then leave, thus the larger kids would take charge by instinct, and sometimes, those kids can be ***holes.

PE is a great idea in general, but needs to be implemented in a much better fashion.

This is a bunch of BS. Did that happen in the US? bet it did.
The kid needs to man up. I'm no guy so i dunno how much it hurts but i see guys rebound all the time. Seriously, if they didn't explode in a torrent of guts or such, not even a bruise, then he needs to get over it. I think, though, it's also the parents' fault. I mean, if they didn't suck as parents they would make their son go back to school and tell him not to be a wimp.

and holy ****, i gotta go! *runs off to catch the bus*
