Whats your attitude towards, music, game and movie piracy? I dont understand how they keep selling stuff as such a high price when piracy is so hard to compete with.
I do have a philosophy about piracy. I belive that I can buy something copied or download it as long as I wouldnt have bought it anyway if piracy hadnt existed. I know it sounds like a cheap excuse. But you know, I would have payed for starcraft 2 if piracy hadnt existed, so I will buy the original, cos the game will be good, so it deserves every buck. But I would have never bought a game like Rome Total War if downloading it would have been impossible, so I just downloaded it. Am I a cheap bastard or am I right? What do you think?
And what about those cases in which you wanna buy a CD but cand find it anywhere? Is it ok to download it?

That's the way I am, with music anyway. If I really like the band, I go to the store and buy the CD, or, failing that, iTunes. But if it's just a couple songs, like from Right Said Fred or Eurythmics or something, I'll just DL it.

The only game I've ever downloaded was WoW and TBC, and I don't think Blizz is gonna miss 70$ o_O

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal for a reason. Every time you download something you should have paid for, the company loses money and it hurts everyone that works for it. Downloading is wrong and you're going to Hell for it.

  5. Rome total war is an awsome game, and has recieved very high ratings and reviews, why wouldnt you buy it. Downloading music is just wrong, those artists work hard for their money. Chris Benoit that white album and space oddity just look burnt, I paid for those.

Well, making back-ups is ok. As long as you pay for the CD.

Welll I think most of the people who pirate gaes are children and teenagers who can't afford it themselves and whose Parents won't by it for them. I remember I orginally used a Pirated copy of Diablo 2 but later when I had the money I went out and bought it because it was worth having a good copy that worked online.

Rome? Yeah actually I enjoyed quite a bit, but im not gonna pay cos it stole like 3 days of my life. Whenever Ill be about to die I will think "I wish I had used those 72 hours in something better, like playing starcraft"

Anyway mostly anyone agrees on my point. Cool, I should be president.

    PS: Buy an original SC2.

    edit: wrong quote.

More like 3 days well spent.

  15. If you want to play somthing online you have to buy it. Starcraft 2 online is a must, and besides whats $50 bucks every 10 years.

If it follows its current trend, Starcraft III will cost well over $200 (inflation adjusted for the year 2035).

Probably after WWIII we will be too busy rebuilding our nations to care about SC 3.

Piracy is a sensitive issue all around the world. Hell, some countries encourage and embrace "pirates" and it is something that will not be stopped any time soon. Though I will be honest, I have downloaded songs off the internet just because of an impulse, but tell me this was Robin Hood wrong in his endeavors? Does that make him a pirate or a savior?

Anyway, some people download songs just to listen to them, I have gone out to buy albums because of a song I downloaded. For example, Making April, I have never heard of them until I found a song by them for download. The song was great so I went out to buy the album. But who here has not stolen anything? Hmm? HMM?! If you say "No" followed by some sort of excuse then I already know you are lying because for one thing -- this is the damn internet!

But I digress, piracy is illegal but to be honest I think it is beneficial, check out this article and it may affect your opinion(s) on the issue.

Why would they charge a fee? Only thing they charge for is WoW and thats for server upkeep. Since everything for an RTS is done on the game host there is very little required of Battle Net. They won't need to charge for that.

I pirate media mainly for conveniance, I hate having to wait for a specific timeslot to watch my favorite programs on TV so i just download and watch them whenever im in the mood. I also pirate stuff that i would never pay money for.
