    "How about controlling games with your thoughts instead? Later this year, Emotiv Systems Inc. plans to start selling the $299 EPOC neuroheadset to let you do just that.

    The headset's sensors are designed to detect conscious thoughts and expressions as well as "non-conscious emotions" by reading electrical signals around the brain, says the company, which demonstrated the wireless gadget at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

    The company, which unveiled a prototype last year, says the headset can detect emotions such as anger, excitement and tension, as well as facial expressions and cognitive actions like pushing and pulling objects.

    The headset will be sold with a game developed by Emotiv, but it can also be made to work with existing PC games, the company said. Users will also be able to access an online portal to play more games, chat or upload their own content such as music or photos.

    Emotiv plans to work with IBM Corp. to explore applications beyond video gaming. The "brain computer interface" technology could transform not only gaming, but how humans and computers interact, said Paul Ledak, vice president of IBM's Digital Convergence business. "

    My, if it works half as well as they say, using it would be about as close to cheating as I would want to come! Imagine playing something like Day of Defeat as a sniper...

    I wonder how hard would it be to learn using it. I bet I'd have hard time learning how to move in just one direction at a time ;D

    I think this could be just the thing to get you to that 200+ APM in Starcraft. :D

    "I want colossi in the fastest way possible."

    Probes go to work and build, collect, and scout immediately.

    "Sweet" :D

    Seriously though, I think I'd rather use a mouse rather than the headset since my ideas wonder way off topic constantly. Trying to play maps on "use map settings" would be a pain since the gameplay is unconventional.

    In all seriousness, I don't think this would really make gaming any better. If you have a mouse and keyboard or any other controller, you could at least have a thought before you press the button, but if it's your thought's it's just right as you think it, and you have to think again to cancel that, then think again to do something else. Besides what would happen if you thought of a cheeseburger while you were playing? ;D

    Well, interesting, I don't think these sensors detect all your thoughts (well I mean the electric pulses) so I think nothing is going to happen than.. But I don't really know how can they distinguish each "thought", cause we have many..

    We have many, but thoughts such as "forward", "backward", etc are readily distinguishable, because we think subconsciously each time we act in such a matter. It’s really a matter of mapping.

    Me thinks I'll use it when I'm typing. Like write a whole essay in under ten minutes. Unless you have to go "press 'p', press 'a', press 'p', press 'e', press 'r'."

    Speaking of which, that would be just like being a cerebrate.
