How many games per day (SC2) do you play on average? How much should you think one should play for progression (depends on the person but still)? I'm planning to play on average around 10 games a day (possibly more on weekends) and I'm aiming to be a good player. I've played perhaps 300 games on ICCUP (broodwar) and my level of play i D+'ish. I do not want to be gosu in sc2, just good. With progress on the later over time. I see Starcraft 2 as a new game, and an opportunity to be good at a game right of the bat. When I started playing broodwar, think of all the years other people have played. I could never catch up in the amount of games compared to if I started from day1 and 10 games a day. Perhaps I want to be platinum when the game comes out. It's not a fixed goal though. ... Is 10 games a high or a low number? More than 10 games usually wears me out and I feel mentally exhausted if I'm doing my best at those games.. what's the "magic number" in your opinion? If I play every day (let's say 30 games a day), which I could because I don't think I'll ever get tired of Starcraft II, would those later games where I'm mentally tired really help my play a lot? Or do you only play that much to improve slightly and keep yourself going or prepare for a tournament of some sort? Also, as it is now, I spend a lot of time watching commentaries on youtube and plays from people like OverSky. Also watched around 90% of Day[9]'s dailies on Starcraft 2. And ALL videos of Cholera, Husky and HDStarcraft (broodwar). Do you think spending time watching those commentaries pays off, or is it better to spend that time playing? Sure it's fun to watch, but I have a lot of fun ingame as well, and if I'm purely after entertainment I go watch sitcoms or whatever. So in short= Can you get away playing SC2 "casually" from beta and get really good at it over a big period of time? Or will most newer die-hard players in 5 years' time stomp me because they start playing like crazy? Is Starcraft 2 a game of playing a lot to become good? Is it talent? Or is it playing over a large timelapse? Can you "catch up" in skill? Also, I'm looking for players on EU that fit this "casual 10-game-per-day" thing.. Wanna make a clan in the future.. 16+.
oh lol 10 u make me smile my friend i play like average 20-30 on normal days and on weekends its just ****ing scary ;D oh also <---- no lifer spotted
Yeah, but I doubt you'll be playing that much 2 years from now. If you have long-term plans that's nice. Or perhaps you'll quit SC2 and start playing a new MMO or whatever. I could literally spend 7 hours a day and full-time on weekends, but I'm not planning to be gosu at Starcraft 2. Spending all that time is a waste if I don't become so good that I can make a living out of it. I'm casual, hence that's why I play less. + The ladder resets every week. I like to keep games "stacked". Not play 40 and have it on 0.. @The8thark = how many do you think you'll play..? What are your plans? Have you played Broorwar a lot?
Same here, unfortunately. No key. Think some toddler who should be playing runscape got it while browsing facebook.
Well pl0x answer what your plans are and what do you think about playing a lot in general? Does it improve skill or is there an "evolve limit" per day?
Exactly! But how can you only squeeze in such few games if you're a SC2 fanatic? I mean, that's probably the number we're gonna see here most on the forums I think.. that or 10.. nobody's really hardcore although it's like the game they really want to play
Why would you post it here instead of, say, the SC2 board? Oh and just to answer in some way. 0 right now and I wouldn't know about being good at... well anything.
