When i logged in i got a popup saying "Playtime has been added to your account. Game on!", and there is also some message in the upper right corner saying Playtime expires 21st June or something. My initial thought was of course that it had something to do with the beta phase ending or whatever but it seems like a lot of work to do just for the beta when they could just shut it down at any time anyways. It certainly looks like they are preparing for some pay-to-play system, wasn't SC2 supposed to be free of monthly payments?

Ah I see, i just kind of assumed it was something that just appeared in the patch since i havent seen anything about it before, otherwise i would have searched for it Anyways this seems like a pretty stupid idea to me as i dont really see why anyone would rather pay a 6-month subscription for 35-50% of a lifetime subscription cost if you actually have the money to buy a computer that can run SC2?
