lol just for one time try to pay attention to what the world leaders actually are saying. They say that by 2050 our combined global production of CO2 emission should be reduced by 50%. (like this: http://www.euractiv.com/en/climate-change/g8-backs-50-co2-cut-2050/article-174028 ) Why is this craap you may ask. This is craap because all actions the politicians ventures into, they do because they want the people to vote for them. Not because they want to actually improve something. Ideally this can result in the following: 1. There is a problem 2. The politicans wants to solve the problem 3. The politicans knows how to solve the problem 4. Solving the problem is unpopular 5. The politicians develop a more conservative solution to the problem 6. The poltiicans say their more popular solution will solve the problem which keeps up their popularity and meanwhile can say they are solving the problem, and infact the problem didnt get solved. So instead of listening to the world leaders, lets try and listen to those who really wants to solve the problem wholeheartly: They say that by 2020 the "stuff" should be reduced by 80%. http://www.redorbit.com/news/display/?id=1731335 Whos solution do you beleive will solve the problem? The solution of those who cares about elections or the solution of those who cares about the problem? Lets face it, its time to organise a revolt.
yes most political leaders are the highest calibur of idiot around, but sometimes there is that one guy that actualy does what he promises and makes everybody happy. So far, wev've run out of that guy.
Democracy is build on popularity (and most of other government systems are to an extend). You get rewarded for getting elected not for actually doing the stuff you've promised to do. Anyways most people have simmilar attitude towards the big guns in politics as exe does but very little people actually bother to vote for somebody else like "those who really wants to solve the problem wholeheartly".
thats because "those who really wants to solve the problem wholeheartly" are not going into politics, because they know politics corrupts, so they stay out of it and stick loyal to their case. And if they dont go into politics then you can not vote for them lol.
And apparently the best way how to fix your supposed government corruption is to stay out of politics because it is corrupt. With that attitude will be stuck in a circle. There are no (or very little) politicians that go and do politics just to serve the public and voice citizen opinions into the realm of law. I can use cheesy oversimplification. People may have two major motivations why to enter the public sphere: - They want to make personal profit (power, money, fame, respect, you name it.) - They want to project their own world view onto the government and model the country to an image of their own. I'd rather stick to the second group.
Problem is there are too few people in the second group. I remember in Economics class we saw a video about one of the newer members of the Senate (at the time) who stated that when the Senate proposed that gov't jobs have decreased wages he said that should include jobs in the Senate. That night he started getting e-mails from senior members that he should never say anything like that again if he wishes to be in good standing with the older members. So even though some politicians try to halt corruption, they get outnumbered by those that are corrupt and unable to get anything done.
Having only two parties is actually a good thing when it comes to fulfilling promises. If you have for eg. 6 parties, none of the parties will be big enough to run government, thus they need to work jointly with 3 parties in the same government. When this happens say bye bye to the promises made. They will have to scrap half their program because now they need to work with others, and they have to agree too. Since it are different parties they are bound not to agree. The government wont function at all..what do you get?? --> BELGIUM
What you need is more people that vote for the politicians views, not for the donkey or the elephant, or how the biased media portrays them.
When people go to elections in my country they are not choosing guy to solve problems. They are choosing the one of the lesser evils. Some don't even bother to vote.
