i think the mineral system need some change.

as it stands posting hardly earn minerals at all, 100 posts at an average of 50 words per post is very contributive to the forum but that will only give you 400 minerals, while pets and arcades give thousands of minerals. the zealot pet is cheap, even new members could afford it quickly, people who bought the zealot as soon as they can got 3000 minerals from bonuses, enabling them to buy more expensive pet like the immortal which earned a further 3500. on the other hand someone who saved up by posting would need 500 posts at 50 word per post to afford the immortal. the proportions are totally out of whack. the rewards from pets shouldn't be random like that, zealots has become much more useful than the best worker, with the probe worker you would need save 1000 minerals in the bank for 220 days before it earns you 3000 minerals, and probes are very hard to get, no one has been awarded one yet.

longer posts should be rewarded more minerals, there shouldn't be a cap on how much minerals you can earn from a single post. each word after the 10th should be worth around of 0.2 minerals, while posts with less than 10 words should be penalized 10 minerals. this would discourage spammers and also semi-spammers who posts lots of one line responses that usually have any no real content, they would receive less minerals per post as they do now.

I've only won ONE bonus (1k minerals in the recent treasure hunt) but I'm just fine. I've bought the red name, a rename, Ghost, Stalker, and a frame. You mostly get monies from a combo of posting AND bank interest.

I get my money through buying and selling rare items.

Would you like to buy a marine?

@Praetor Fenix: lol of course you are rich... you get 1% interest from the bank, that's massive. most of us only get 0.1%

it takes you 69 days to double your money, it takes most other people 690 days... the more you interest you earn the richer you get. it's compounded

I hope you don't think I always had that interest rate. I only got it about 2 weeks ago.

Isn't that a reward for being in Hyperion?

Not specifically. You can also get them from mods for simply godlike posts.

And how did you get it? 1% is a huge interest rate and I don't think mods or the admin throws probes to anyone who posts great stuff. Drones or SCVs rather but you need several of those to reach 1%.

This is a forum, and my understanding of that word is an exchange of information alloted in this internet domain. Relax a bit, the primary function is to just relax and talk to other people who are eager to play Starcraft 2. The mineral system is just making this experience more fun, if some people want to spam and abuse it, or you don't have time to play the arcade and such, just ignore it. So someone has a better pet than you, or their name is rainbow colored, so what? Shouldn't change what you think of them or otherwise. If gaining minerals is your top priority in this point in time, you really need to find a good game to play XD

Just enjoy it, and slowly gain your minerals, there's no rush really, and no need to get angry at people who post "lofhjwhtuathauomafrolflolomgomfgrofl", ignore it, and just let the mods take care of it, if they deem it acceptable, then move on. No need to make a big deal out of an implentation to make foruming more enjoyable.

I got part of it for a godlike post, and a lesser one for being part of the Hyperion.

Stupid language barriers prevent me from great exploits such as godlike posts :( And I'm not skillful with the arcade games plus it could consume a lot of (too much) time by the time I'd win something. :upset:

SD-Count: I agree, minerals = fun, so more minerals = more fun ;D

    Godlike = 5 pages long

I really get annoyed when people think they need 5 pages to explain a simple idea and even more annoyed when people aplaud you for writng 5 times as much as is needed

I don't mean to sound harsh....Language Barriers can be overcome. Look at Protosscommander and zeratul11. They're some of the highest powered people in the forum.

And godlike doesn't necessarily mean Remy-like. It just has to be a nice, deep post.

Hate to break it to you but most of commander's powerups are from those videos he does just like how Archlimits art gets him loads of powerups.

People seem to care more that you can draw than that you can think and type

Even my powerups aren't from well thought out posts. I admit to this most of them are from finding something interesting regardless of the presentation. Aslo a few are fro being helpful I think I will keep those ones.

Praetor Fenix: I don't mean to sound harsh either but I have trouble understanding even the very gist of some of Protosscommander's posts.

And I agree with Birdofprey, power levels do not represent what they should, at least in my opinion.

So? They're still contributing to the forum in what way they can. Should they not go un-applauded?

Pictures and youtube video isn't what I would consider contributing. I would just like to see the disparity fixed because there are many more posts worth applauding than there are pictures and videos yet the picures and videos get more rewards

Simply because people are too lazy to read through posts.

People are applauded for posting useful things which encourages them to do so but I can't see spamming discouraged. Same idea posted for the third time in the thread, "idunno lol" posts, they all should be dealt with and even if they are dealt with (just not in front of the public), I don't see their numbers decreasing.

So don't get me wrong, do applaud people for contributing, but do penalise who spam.

Users ARE rewarded for good posts.

I can think of a VERY recent example.

I know when I see a good post I make a point of it to show it to mods.
