Robert Greene has written three books to date, The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, and The 33 Strategies of War. I've the the books on power and war. those two deal with ways to gain and use power effectively (to use enemies, to destroy you enemies totally, etcetera) , and the best ways to wage war (the counter-attack, envelopment, etcetera). Both books together could easily have over a hundred historical references, from The Trojan Horse and Athens, to The Vietnam War and The Zulus. He also has a blog that deals with current events and hypothetical situations. http://powerseductionandwar.com/ I recommend his books to you more then i recommend Brood War, and I love Brood War.
Yeah, the words of Sun Tzu will squash you like a bug! ;D Did I get his name right? And I might consider reading the one on seduction, just to take the edge off all this war and violence.
I've read The Art of War(Sun Tzu) and The Prince(Machiavelli), as well as the Evil Overlord List(Peter Anspach). That last one isn't a book, so much as it is a ...list.
i read the art of war and the prince. also 1984. i'm reading the brothers karamazov right now. highly recommended also, robert greene happens to reference the art of war and machiavelli alot in his books.
studying? haha, you could say that. but the way these books put it, it'll feel like fiction. these books will teach you that there is more to history then what you learn in school.
