As I mentioned before, me and my older brother have started a StarCraft project together, which is to be a comic. We're making good progress so far. I do the storyboards and he does the artwork. Having trouble understanding what this is? Think of the famous Red vs Blue Halo series, but put that in comic form and with StarCraft characters. Still having troubles understanding what this is? Well, what is there to say except you're a lost cause. Here is a sketch preview of some of the characters so you can see the style of the comic: http://vgcache.com/images/9 I hope you guys like what my brother has come up with for the character designs. I love them, because they maintain the cartoon look while giving the comic uniqueness. Before, we wanted to just make a simple comic with random storyboards. But after talking to my brother we decided to make it have a simple storyline to background the comic, just like Halo's Red vs Blue. We'll have a set of characters for readers to follow along with, and everything else. The whole comic takes place around an expansion base on some planet (to be determined). Each of the three races has sent out a small scouting squad to secure the base, but upon arriving each side sees the others and is forced to set up base just outside of the expansion's borders. The expansion has become the dead zone and the three squads and their stories will continue from there. We're cooking up a teaser comic, unrelated to the storyline, which I will post here on these forums in the next day or so. The topic of the comic strip should interest some of you, although it may be dry humor to some (hint: micro). So stay tuned! And what's more is that our little brother is named Chris-Edward. Yes, things get confusing to other people.
I previously said that this was madness when you first mentioned in a thread about your plans.. and was that like a month ago now right? Anyway those are great pix and we're looking forward to that. I just want to say that this is really something worth to look out for... (THIS iS STARCRAFT!!) Q: Is it a Sci-fi comedy genre?
When I first saw the unrendered sketch, I was thinking of saying that they needed a lot more character, but after seeing the rendered version, you guys've certainly nailed it. Perhaps the Zealot could do with a bit more, especially in the eye department, but the Marine's brilliant. Yeah, just the Zealot. Doesn't look like he has much character at the moment, but it's still great.
