OK, I'll get straight to the point. Somehow I ended up in platinum league, and I haven't done really well - I've lost 7 games in a row now. It's clear to me I'm doing *something* wrong, but I don't know exactly what it is. I post two replays, they are very short: one is PvT, which I lost to an early reaper assault I did not see coming (still, it was probably foolish to open with so many zealots vs. terran). The other one is PvZ, in which I attempted a 2 gate rush, which in turn got countered. Perhaps my mistake was delaying the attack for too long, perhaps it was keeping the pressure with zealots. Or perhaps the flaw lies in my technique, I don't know. Any comments will be appreciated.
In the terran match I think you needed to get some stalkers out as the sentries and zealots were pretty useless. Also you could have done a little better with your scouting there as he didn't get a marine to chase the probe away. Also, when you scouted it would have been good to get that probe to attack whatever scv's were making structures as they can't fight back or run away. It's just annoying. In the zerg match I think you made a huge mistake by running at the spine crawler in your first attack. Once you saw that you should have backed off and tried to kill the hatchery. You basically traded 4 zealots for a spine crawler and 2 lings. Not a good deal. I'm fairly certain you could have either killed the hatchery or forced him to make extra lings to stop you. On the second attack you saw the spine crawlers and ran by them to get to the drones but again traded zealots for relatively nothing. At this point you should have expanded and started teching up because he easily had enough to stop more zealot advances. If you are applying pressure it's a great time to expand because he isn't thinking about countering, he's wasting minerals on spine crawlers and stuff. The assimilators and cy core should have come down much sooner to enable you to get to tier 2 units faster and to give you warp gate tech, There was no reason to continue to push with zealots once he had so many spine crawlers at his choke. The major problem I saw was a huge surplus in minerals. You had over 1500 I believe at certain points but you were also supply blocked. Make sure you do not have that many minerals just sitting there doing nothing. Also, the forcefields were pretty bad. You should have been able to pull back and forcefield the ramp to your main to keep the lings out and hopefully scare him off with the void rays. There is plenty more but that's all I can think of for now. Hope this helps a little.
PvZ game - after u rushed with the first 4 zelots and saw he was making spine crawlers u should have immediatly switched tech, but you kept sending them anyways, the zerg rightly scouted ure 2 gate and counterd accordingly, you just carried on, dont do this. going to watch pvt game now wow, you scouted his gas, tech labs on rax yet you still went zlots, agasint terran allways get a stalker first, stops cheese like this, and when you scout you need to learn what ure oppnent will be doing, early gas on terran either means reapers or maruders, either way you should allways be getting 1-2 stalkers agasint T, btw, i notice in both games ure scouting at 12 when u get gateway, scout at 9 after pylon, its never to early to scout and it gives u much needed info. practice more and ull learn sufficent counters.
Hello all. So, I gather I should improve on: awareness of what the other guy is doing, and being able to deduce that from a few quick glimpses at his base; rapid adaptation if my initial plan is countered; overall macro, as in not accumulating minerals and not getting supply blocked. one thing to work on is that your money is to high, in the beginning you should be broke. on everything, if you have 50 mins and gateways are building build a probe. always be building stuff when you can, if you dont have enough money for a stalker build a zealot or a sent depending on which you have more of ( also you appear to be zealot rushing which is high risk and can be killed by 1 stalker or 1 queen ect or 1 reaper as they have the speed and the range get stalkers they are good. get warpgates, they are better, dont rush voids ( if that was what you were trying its bad cause you die to early pushes)
sometimes you dont always want somethen buildeing if you want stalks save up the like 25 minerls for them and if you have to hit from frunt and back cuz thay cant pertect from both?
