Queensday got cancelled.

Queensday ruined, assault on royal family.

I happened in Apeldoorn.
Some lunatic drove a black Suzuki Swift into a crowd watching the parade at full speed. Right at the crossroads where the queen herself was just passing by.

At least 1 person got killed and 14 others are badly injured. The parade got cancelled and most markets and parties as well. Why do people do these things? The country already is having a bad time as is, and now the most important national holiday got ruined!! ****! I hate that guy who did it. And the worst part is that he was freaking ok, even after crashing into a concrete pillar at full speed!

 

So they know why he did it?
That's just so stupid and irresponsible. I mean, i get you may be angry at the queen, but to endanger other people? I mean a person even got killed. I think if people are going to be stupid enough to hold grudges they should keep it to one person and not put others in danger of their stupid unjustified hatred.

 

Now they think he tried to kill the queen. :/

 

yeah, that would make sense, why else would you run a car into the float? =/

 

they dont know yet actually, they are checking the car for explosives now

and not all of queensday got cancelled, just the queens speeches and private parties

why does anyone have a reason to kill the queen? she is a no-one, she doesnt make descisions, so she couldnt make bad ones

 

maybe they're sexist and hate women? i don't know =/

 

could be one of those attacks from the middle-east, but in that case they'd target wilders, not the queen

 

I doubt that it was because of that. Also:

I personally think that the day is ruined when people get wounded and killed for no particular reason. -at the moment- I really do not feel like having a party now, but that could also be because I am not part of a drunk crowd somewhere else in the country.

As for the dicision making: she helps deciding which political fractions make it into the final government. It could very well be that somebody of the opposing fractions did this. Everyone knows that the royal families hates fractions like the one Geert Wilders made.

 

He could just be some nut who wants to get on the news by trying to kill a famous person or at least running a car into her float >>.

Though from the perspective of a terrorist (Hate using that word ><) killing a queen would be a good way of creating alot of panic as opposed to killing Wilders who has it coming to him anyway XD.

 

Now the city majors are trying to decide if they should cancel all festivities. So also the other cities. Everything in Apeldoorn already got cancelled.

Edit: Rotterdam cancelled everything as well now. The guy who did it turns out to be wounded as well.

 

Update:
The mayor of Apeldoorn said during a press conference, that the police have questioned that guy already. He said he did it on purpose. And some of the big artists who should appear at concerts have cancelled their appearances.

Also, why is CNN calling it a --spectacular accident!-- ? What the hell? Like this is cool to watch?

The weird thing is that the prime minister -Balkenende- only said that he felt sorry for the royal family. The news box below the screen says: Balkenende feels really sorry. ... What a bs. His pr people probably wrote that. He failed big time not mentioning the true victims.

 

Update:
- 4 dead, 5 critically injured.
- the man came from Holland and is 34 years old
- somebody else jumped out of the car right before it happened
- the guy is now in being operated at a hospital
- all festivities are oficially cancelled

Man, this really concerns me. What if that guy was send by somebody? He must have planned this pretty well to be there at that exact moment, AND he got past all the secuirity fences and cops. :s

The last post got me thinking, how did he pass all the securities and "kill" the civilian? the CNN should say "This is an unexpected accident" than Spectacular though. All I want to hear is the Perpetrator going to court for this accident/crime. But I don't know the motive.... yet...

 

He drove from an open road or something, then bashed all those people and crashed through the fence after that. I think he wanted to hit the bus with the queen, but instead he went for a cop, and then crashed into a monument.

 

what do you mean "all" the securities, there werent really that many, a couple of cops and a fence to indicate that you couldnt drive through there.
