Hey guys, I've just joined the forum, stoked to be a new member of this community I'm a South African, living in South Korea (in the SC homeland, hehe), and I just wanted to start off by asking you guys a couple of questions about beta key distribution. I apologise if these questions have been answered before. I was just wondering how the distribution of beta keys happened? What made you likely to get one from Blizzard? Just how many were sent out? Just wondering how people were selected, aside from online contests etc. And lastly, is there any viable way that one can "apply" for a beta key? I mean is there any kind of waiting list, or any way to give yourself a chance of getting one? I would give my left nut and kidney for a key, but I really don't see how I have any hope to be honest. Just wondering if there's anything, aside from contests, that one can do to give themself a chance of receiving one. I realise that 1000s of people want one and are obsessed with the game, so I'm not saying I'm special or anything, I'm honestly just curious. Again apologies if this has been answered before, and I'm excited to be a new member of this forum Thanks
There's about 20,000-25,000 beta keys handed out, I'd think so. I say that because at peak times there are 10,000 players online at a time (US server), which was Blizzard's goal for stress testing their servers.
