I'm sure you all saw it coming though.

"Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting "Assassinate Obama." Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars."

"From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.

There have been "hundreds" of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes."

Those who live in America, have you experienced anything so far? In San Diego, CA, everyone seems to be ok (besides prop 8). For those who do not live in America, what is your thoughts about what is going on?

    Predictions? Thoughts? Opinions?

    Lets spill

I don't live in America, but I'm sure that these will subside eventually. Now, being just after the election, and probably just before and a bit after the time when he actually becomes the President, will probably be the worst times, and I'm fairly certain that some terrible things are likely to happen, but, given enough time, things will have to subside. It's an ongoing thing from here, so people will get used to it, regardless of how racist or unstable they are. They'll learn to live with it, regardless of whether they choose to or not.

Overall, in my opinion, the longer he's in, the more it will subside. It's like having a rowdy next-door neighbour. As soon as they move in, you're going to be really pissed off that them (racists hating having a black President), and you're going to try and get them to stop (racial threats, hate crimes, potential assassination attempts), but eventually, you're just going to get used to it and stop complaining (crimes will subside). I'm just hoping that he lasts long enough for that to happen. If some nut does take him out, then not only will all these racial attitudes remain, but we won't be likely to see another black president for a heck of a long time. Basically, if he does last long enough for that to happen, it's going to do wonders for racial attitudes, especially if he can make some memorable and significant changes while he's in office, but if he doesn't, then it's going to set things back for decades. The white supremacists will think they're right and that they're in control, that attitude will be forcibly rubbed off on the black community, no party or black person is likely to want to run for president again and things will just be hell.

Hope that made sense. Was hard to put it into words.

What I'd really love to do is to completely tattoo as many white supremacists dark-skinned as possible. I wonder how they'd react...
