More than 200? I wish. Please back up your posts with evidence next time. :no: As for faster gathering, I think that's why Blizzard gave the option of adjusting game speed to "fastest"
I don't know about population size really being that big of difference, I mean wouldn't you want to fight based on skill and not fight with a whole bunhc of units that you cant control, even though it would be awesome to watch! I think game depth would be totally different with harvest speed up so, wouldn't it be better to keep sc2 modeled after the same type of gameplay that gave sc1 and broodwar such success?
The same speed, i think. I like the speed of Starcraft, and that with more population means bigger battles. Faster gathering woudl just mean fat game pace, don't ya think.
I remember from Blizzcon how players had more resources during the game than they used to in SC1 so they were building a lot more units to burn up the resources. Also the supply is still 200. And it prolly won't change unless through the editor.

i think blizzard will remove unit control cap so building around 400 marines bats and etc. will be epic enuf
Not really. I always just built a lot of units, then threw them into the fray and watch them fight to the death > It was always the most fun with cracklings. Make about 50 of them, send them down, make more, send them down, repeat until nothing is being accomplished.
I think the original pop cap set as 200 is because we can only select 12 units at a time. now that we can select 100 crackling at one time..... OMG huge Zergling rush lol
i thought that they changed the pop cap higher but i dont know by how much ive made 400 lings before greatest thing ever (i had to kill all my drones to make it though )
I am pretty sure you can do that with the current pop cap, LxMike, you just need to have three races... With MBS and unlimited unit selection (UUS?) among other interface upgrades, it would certainly be easier to manage armies at a higher pop cap, but Blizzard has expressed an intention to keep games at about 20-30 minutes in length... and also, having that many units, potentially, on screen at once might tax the engine... they have to take those things into account, too.
