For some recommendations on graphic programs. I draw better on a computer. I want to draw my heart out. I'm actually inspired as of late. I need something akin to Fireworks. I don't plan on using Fireworks any time soon... costs money that I don't have on me. Second question. Is there any way I could get a free older version of Flash? CS4 is 700 dollars. More than Fireworks. I don't want to pirate it.
The only free graphics program I'm familiar with is G.I.M.P. I haven't used it much myself, but I do remember seeing a fair bit of nice digital works on DeviantART where the artist said they used it o.o Never used Fireworks, so I don't know how similar/different it is >_<
See, the thing with Paint.Net is that to me... it seems sloppy. I have no good reason for why I think so, but I just don't like using it. And I'm trying GIMP right now. I'll play with it a little bit when it's installed.
i have corel photo 11, and it works quite well, if your looking for a 3D object editor thats pretty simple, Imagine3D, google it. its pretty sweet
Adobe Illustrator is the only drawing program I've used, but it's a good program. Being able to work in layers is a fine thing.
Must haves for me is Layers, but the only thing without it nowadays is Paint. And a line tool that allows me to go in later, add extra points, and curve it.
I had NO idea what to do/where to go in Photoshop. Got lost the second I opened it. I'm settling with Paint.Net for now...
Check 'photoshop top secret 1-5' and you'll get the basics of Ps. But you said free program so I didn't suggest that...
well then GIMP isn't for you, its just as more complex to use, and more complex if you decide you need to add features. Paint.net for joo attention, unattentative mods, banish zis thread to ze computer discussion section.
