Protoss Universal Rush Send your 6 workers to minerals, and send one of the probes towards the ideal proxy location after it brings back its mineral cluster. 9 Pylon 9 Gateway 9 Gateway Probe Pylon Chrono boost zealots galore Then play it by ear...I'll have a more specific build later that will probably offer a better economic outcome. Zerg Universal Rush 6pool, drone, overlord ?!?! Or drone drone overlord...sounds too expensive. I haven't played zerg but yeah something like the above. Timing should be pretty damn easy to find out. I'll figure it out when I take 3 minutes to play Zerg. As for the ZUR on 4 player maps just send out the drone to scout I suppose. As a rule of thumb you can just produce an extra drone when you need to scout with a drone. That maintains the same timing but with a 50 mineral delay. Terran Universal Rush I really don't know right now...but it will be similar to the protoss build, except two workers will have to be sent out at the right times, and the supply depot will come after the two barracks are started. In Starcraft 1 I liked to do the 88 rax timing for some reason, but I never really knew what the best timing was. Maybe this will be a 99 rax or something. I'll come up with more but I need to work out the timings and stuff first. This is very much on a whim.
I haven't tried a 6 pool rush yet. I have used 7 and 8 pool variants. 7 pool is about 9 seconds faster, which can literally make or break a game during a rush. However, it is also far more crippling to your early economy. I would only use it in situations where you don't have to scout, and you're gambling on the rush to win (if not immediate, to cripple them enough that the game is, for all intents and purposes, over). 8 pool is one of the stronger rush builds. It is still pretty fast and works well in terms of larva spawn timing. Build order is as follows (imo): 8 drone pool 2 drone overlord 6 ling queen There are variants of course. Some people adjust to send an extra two "late" lings, etc. I personally find saving for that queen more important than popping out extra drones after building your lings. It will help your economy recover fast imo, and it gives you some defense/scout chasing ability.....of course I'm also biased in favor of 2v2 games. If you're rushing another zerg player you also want to send a drone out ahead of time to threaten them with a spine crawler. This will force them to pull drones from their mineral line to attack it, slowing down their economy. You will want to place the spine crawler in a good attack position (needs to be able to reach the mineral line), but not in a position that is easily surrounded (i.e. against another building). This will let you cancel it as necessary and get the drone out. Since the drone cancels at 100% health, you can then start building a new spine crawler. The rest is ling micro.
