And over 40% of the US public were willing to vote her into the office of (vice-)president of the United States? What the hell is wrong with you people? I tried to delude myself that the "Obama nazi healthcare reform" conspiracy bullcrap lurked only around the nutter fundamentalist chrisitan forums but to withness actual (wo)men in power buying into this crap is... scary? Depressing?
I feel so sorry for you guys right now. Seriously. I mean my country sucks in many aspects but I don't think I could cope with something like that. Knowing that at least 40% of the country thinks like this is frightening to say the least. Next stop: Creationism at schools. Yay for teaching the ''''''''''controversy''''''''''' ._. P.S: Note that creationism is a branch of christianity, not christianity as a whole. I'm just criticizing the branch. P.S2: On a little sidenote... man you guys probably have the most biased media in the world. If I were you I'd set my tv on fire (in a non-literal way)
Maybe she is right when she says there is a problem with how the healthcare will work or has the potential to work? But then again if you can accept that some people should not recieve healthcare because they are not an asset anyway, well, then ofcourse your view is that she is wrong. LOL -yeah, when i first found out of this the first time i was like - OH .. MY .. GOD, like totally caught off guard. Didnt see that coming. edit:
If there was a valid problem with the healthcare then I am all in favour of letting them to point out what the exact problem is. Deluding the public with non-sence such as socialism and 'death panels' is only reinforcing my opinion that there are no real arguments to oppose healtchare reform. However large portion of the US public (and now apparently even people in position of Sarah Palin) fall into the category of religious nuts who buy into every conceivable conspiracy theory out there. Afterall we all know that Obama is the anti-christ.
U shouldnt read it as active death panels but passive death panels. and also not centrlised but decentralised. So maybe at one hospital the patient is told to not recieve help (and then he will suffer a slow, cruel and agony death) but at another hospital the same patient is told he will be rescued.
Isnt that far more likely to happen in the current environment? currently people who are in frail health cant get health insurance since the companies dont think they can make money of of them. If the goal isnt making money, a lot more people are eligable for insurances. The "death panel" is a lot more likely scenario under the current system. And this cant make the health situation worse, since there will still be private insurance.
