is it just me or when playing sc2 it feels so much faster paced than the original SC, i mean like built time and every thing. it feels like you'll get into mid game sooner than in the the original Starcraft. but then again..maybe not. any ideas?
Improved pathing, 6 initial workers, and the fact that the popular(?) speed of SC2 is faster, which is faster than the equivalent of SC1 fastest would be, I think. Lots of people have said it plays a lot faster, so it's not just you.
When I played it it felt MUCH more faster than the original. But I heard Blizzard say that's their plan (to not make games longer than 20 min). I struggled with macro at first, and from my SC experience I always assigned workers to minerals when that wasn't needed. But the "select buildings" function is pretty darn good. I also found upgrades go much faster.
Haven't spent much time with it. However, zerg and toss tier3 seem to come a good bit faster than SC1. And toss definitely tech faster than before(though the name of the new ability at the nexus escapes me) . "Mid game" probably comes a few minutes earlier, but even with everything being sped up there's a lot more going on and it seems to slow down and speed up in spurts. I'm sure the pros and in general better players than myself have a different experience though. Aside from that I'll have to second what Kuvasz and Lobsterlegs said.
lol thanks Kayhoff. Just know it hotkeys to C. ^^; My memory is not what it used to be. That being said, does anyone feel like Warp gate tech comes a little too quick? It's fairly cheap and comes around quick enough that one pylon outside an enemy base and a little bit of pressure from a few zealots makes for incredibly fast support right at their front door.
