First of all, let me just say it's been a fun, interesting school year. I actually got out of school on Friday June 5th but I was just too deprived of Starcraft so I played for like a week straight. Now that I've almost reached half of my normal Starcraft playtime, I can actually concentrate on other stuff. Like seeing what's been happening around here.

So let me tell you what my school year's been like (if you don't want to read this, just skip to the bottom where I need some help).

    Semester 1:

The first day of school I actually did not even have my schedule because my parents scheduled my tuberculosis test only about three days before school started. So I had to wait in this huge line of people who did not get their tests in on time and so we were all waiting for our schedules. After I got it, it was kind of like a maze I had to go through. I didn't know where anything was. And... okay I'm tired of writing about this already. Lately I've just gotten really lazy now.

    Semester 2:

So right after winter break, it was back to work. So much homework... But despite the fact that I was overloaded with homework and didn't have time, much less the permission, to unwind and just have some good old fashion fun on the computer. So I started sneaking time onto the computer while I was working and just playing games, watching videos, all that other stuff. Even though I wasn't thoroughly concentrating on my work while I did it, I still got good grades. At least academically... So then came my 2nd progress report where I was surprised to see that I got a B in P.E. I was thinking to myself "wtf how did this happen?!?!" Then I thought back to that day where the teacher yelled at me cause he thought my shouts of encouragement at the pitcher were insults. By April I was already tired of all this work. It's the only thing I was supposed to do, work.

That paragraph was getting too long so I just made a new one so it wouldn't just look like a jumble of sentences there. I guess I should tell you guys about my classes. My fun, fun classes.

Geometry: When I think of my Geometry class, I don't think of it as boring math anymore. I think of it as a fun class. Why? Because it was more of a sh*t talk class by the last 3 months of school. One person would just be talking about someone then someone else would say something and it would escalate and we would be gossiping about others. I got some really crappy test scores such as 75% (they're crappy to me, okay?). But there was so much work we got that my grade would probably an A because almost all the classwork I did received a grade of 10/10.

P.E.: P.E. is probably one of my favorite classes. It was probably the only genuinely fun class because we played more sports than we did get in shape. It was weird because I did things with the same bunch of guys, four of us total. One of them, really... weird I guess. He always played like he was possessed by the devil. Everyday he would come to school with a new cut/bruise on his body and show it to us. I would always compete with him. The other guy was just really dumb and we would always make fun of him but he'd always prove us wrong when he beats us physically. And the last one. He is so strong but in competitions he would always let us down. We would make fun of him for not living up to his full potential.

The girls in the class were just sad. They never tried in any sport. In softball, if the ball went towards them, they would just watch it roll and only go get it when someone told them to. They would walk to first base if they hit the ball.

Biology: This is the class where I shined like a star. Oh yes. Almost all my classwork, homework, and labs got perfect score and I aced all my tests and quizzes. Well the major ones anyways. The highest grade on my test ever was 113.8% and that was the highest out of all the Biology classes my teacher taught(it was a 74/65) My average class grade was 105%. She would post our grades every couple of weeks on the wall. 2nd to last week of school we dissected a fetal pig but instead of a fetal pig, we got a pig that was already born. The best part was the brain. We cut it out and I squished it.

English: Don't get me wrong, our teacher is a good teacher, but he just really fell behind on work due to taking care of someone. So he didn't really teach me anything new other than how to think even more critically than I ever could. The kids would always complain about how they hated it when he made them think.

Lunch: Only 30 minutes long compared to our 50 minute lunch in middle school. At the start of the school year I would just sit on a bench and talk with people who walked by. Most of the time they stopped and sat with me. As the year progressed, I sat with other friends in a hallway which was widely used. The people who passed by were the main subject of our jokes. They always made me laugh. Nearing 3 months till the end of school, we started going to a room to play some chinese chess (FTW). Well... I just watched, my friends played. I sucked.

Spanish: Fun at the beginning but got boring as the year went on. We didn't get any homework but I still learned a lot. She taught the class in Spanish and rarely spoke english. People complained that she didn't teach them anything but, it's not that she didn't teach them anything, it's that they didn't listen. I mean, my grade on the oral final was an amazing 103%. She said my Spanish was so good that I got 2 extra credit points.

Computers: Semester 1 was health but I don't want to write about that now, I'm already tired and I'm sure you guys think this is boring but I just need to write this out. Computer class was boring but still pretty fun. The typing program we used had a game with a high score chart. I was obsessed with it. Weird huh. Obsessed! I got 77 wpm and 0 errors on my typing final. Probably the second best out of the class. 77 may seem slow but we had to type 3 paragraphs over and over again as many times as we could for 3 minutes. MY final grade was a 96% (A).

And that's it for all my classes. You may have thought this was boring. I did too. I just needed to tell someone this and you guys are always good listeners (in this case readers).

What did I learn from this year? I learned that life isn't fair (I got sick on the last day of school when we had a party in my Spanish class with lots of food. This happened to me last year on 8th grade graduation day.) I learned that life is full of possibilities (113.8% woot).

Oh by the way, I got into English enriched, to my surprise because the test was extremely hard. I got into World history enriched too. Ah... Life is good.

Okay for my World History Enriched summer homework, I need to keep updated on significant news that happens around the world. Anyone know a website that talks about significant global news?

Yeah this thread is long, I don't expect you to read all of it.

Edit: Oh by the way... this is my freshman year. I'm going to be a sophomore.

Lol, it's alright. I didn't expect anyone to read it all. I ramble at times. I just needed to get it out. I don't like holding stuff back.

Yeah I didn't read it all either, but that's great to let everything out. I rarely met people like that.

But that's great you're out, and...uh did you pass everything?

I've been finding it hard to put any care into other people's high school experience now that I've graduated. I usually just snicker at anyone who's a junior, etc.

    I did read it all.

And I just have to say: W00T COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IS OVER!!11!!shiftone****one! It ended two or three weeks ago.
I never have to stand our annoying English teacher, our annoying form master or our annoying Swedish teacher anymore.
I just hope that the teachers in high school aren't annoying and I hope that we don't get as much homework there as our teachers told so I have time to play StarCraft 2 :Þ

    I hate you two...
Exams end next Tuesday for me...

And my friend managed to convince his computer class teacher to let them play Diablo II in class, provided they could set up a LAN network.

They were there for a long time after school...

Well as our summer vacation starts earlier than in many other countries, it also ends earlier.

Ages 16-17 are the best years of school for lots of reasons. :)

At that age you've developed some degree of maturity and appreciate being away from most of the younger school-goers, who just lark about.

You get to choose what you study. You do what you enjoy and nothing that you don't enjoy. And because of that, the classes aren't disrupted. People are doing what they enjoy. Classes are interesting and productive and rewarding.

And because of that, life is easier for your tutors, so you have better relationships with them. You can converse with them as equals, and you'll find that you appreciate them.

You build better more meaningful relationships with your peers than in earlier years. And that includes boyfriends/girlfriends, to the extent of finding humour/shame in anything that went before.

Life is easier -- You get more freedom to do as you please, and no great responsibilities. You have more free time.
You get more allowance from your parents and can do part time work alongside your studies and get a reasonable income to supplement your social life (or to upgrade your computer hardware :p)

At this age you learn to drive and get your first car. You enjoy weekend trips with your friends, and drive yourselves wherever you want to go.

It's the most freedom you'll ever have. :)

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you live in a "high society" neighborhood?

I'd say my neighbourhood is above average, but I wouldn't say it is high society. I live in a small town, surrounded by woodland and farmland. The residents are polite and amiable.

I'm aware there are some disadvantaged areas, especially in cities, and I'm sorry if I've been assuming of some things. But experiences are all relative, and I'd still believe ages 16-17 will generally be the best years of school, whatever one's background. :)
