A somewhat less obvious post. When going through all of my old belongings I happened to find a lot of 'Game&Watch' games, which I used to collect when I was much younger. Apparently, these are worth quite a lot (relatively speaking) (and depending on how many you have). Realising that investing some money in popular games now, keeping them sealed, could present you with a nice profit in years to come - how would you decide to buy which games presently? Or even more obscure (for lack of a better word, and my level of English) will games of the present be even worth anything in say 30 years? An obvious example, buying a copy of SC2 at release and keeping it sealed.
1. Games are entertainment, not products. The future may not see the game in quite the same way it is seen today. The future has to care, because what they are getting is an unopened package = a product. 2. collectors editions and limited editions won't likely be worth anything substantial. It's too deliberate. 3. as with most things of antique value, it is rare items from popular manufacturers that are sought most. By popular I mean in the sense that people in the future will still recognize something special in the brand.
Frankly if you are looking to sell things, sell cadavers. One whole cadaver could pay for your entire college fund.
