Anybody know how smooth the game is going to run in terms of gameplay?

If you take CnC3 or Generals for example, I always felt that everything is really un-smooth when you mark units with the mouse and everything = bad for competative online gaming.

How close will SCII be SC?
I hope you guys understand what I mean..
And no, it isn't the PC that's slowing things down.

    From what I've understood,

Blizzard has put alot of effort into perfecting the game engine so it will not only run smoothly on a modern PC, but will run smoothly on lower-end systems, including the online components.

I don't think we have too much too worry about, this is being made by Blizzard after all.

Lance he means something different. He's not on about performance but about hard-coded smoothness, so to speak.

In short, SC2 will be extremely smooth. Units react to orders immediately (SC1 checked for orders every half a second, while SC2 doesn't check IIRC but responds immediately) which will make unit control and micro very smooth and precise.

Thanks for the quick and accurate response(s)!
Damn, if SC1 checked every half a sec..woah..

I always thought RA3, CnC3 and Generals had very louzy controls.
One of the few reasons I didn't start playing it online.

But I guess there's nothing to worry about then!
