I started with season one. First episode was called Rose. That one was still not above anything weird I had seen thus far. Then episode two came along, where the last living human, was a stretched piece of skin with a brain floating in a jar beneath it. That's when I knew this series shouldn't be taken to seriously, lol. Kinda like it, though. Need to watch more of it. Just one thing: he travels through time and stuff, and his best gadget is a little blue flashlight? I kept lolling at it, instead of finding it impressive or cool in any way. That's the only problem I got with this series. It has little to no cool stuff. Only weirdness.
The little blue flashlight is a Sonic Screwdriver. It originally started out as a plot device in the original series so the Doctor could do anything and there'd be a reason for it. The new series is great at keeping the same spirit as the original. The original series had an extremely low budget, so they made do with anything. When it got renewed/more money, they made things look nicer, but still the same.
