Well Kuvasz did the banning, and Jon later banned a duplicate account(not sure, only saw comments in the chatbox 'bout that)
Duplicate account? In and of itself, that's a bannable offence. You know, I once had a Mod accuse me of doing that... I'm not sure that their ability to detect multiple accounts is all that sophisticated, really. I think they rely on IP and email addresses. When I first joined this site, a chap I respected was banned --Tychus Findlay. Shame, that. And I never knew why. But I won't miss Lobster.
Funny you should say that, Zealot. He returned with about half a dozen accounts and went completely nerdrage (had someone in contact with him). Still feeling the same way? As for the lounge... firstly, I don't visit it much, if at all, and secondly, I'm not convinced I know what belongs there. Some interpret the description rather loosely, others more narrowly. I think you'd have better luck with serious discussions at other sites.
@Kuvasz Wow... I honestly had no idea. Tychus Findlay, for the time I knew him, always seemed like a sound fellow. Then again, I worked extensively in customer care as a telephone agent. It's insane how people that you've never seen (and never will) can be abusive --and they often get "carried away" because they feel protected by the relative anonymity provided by the nature of the technology (telephone). The internet is like that, too: a lot of people will say things online they'd never say face-to-face.
I think that the criteria for The Lounge are pretty clear. They offer a lot of room for discussion without being ambigious about the limitations. Surely sometimes a shady thread pops out which I am willing to concede towards the OP but there are plenty of them which simply don't belong there.
