While watching my friends play Halo 3, I got a great idea. Everybody knows that Halo 1, 2, and 3 use a special set of headphones to allow players to talk to other teammates during the matches online.

Well, wouldn't it be neat for players in SC2 if they were able to talk using special headsets to their partners while playing? Imagine the advantages of being able to talk freely during a match rather than hitting enter and then typing in a message for help while your base is under attack. The ability to direct allies and call for help will be much easier if speech mode existed. Below is an example of a quick conversation that with speak mode would be faster and possibly save the base of Player 1.

Player 1: "Help! My base is under attack on the right side by a group of fully advanced hydralisks and I don't have the military to hold them off!"

Player 2: "Alright, I'm sending a group of marines and siege tanks to your base to help defend."

Player 1: "Thx, the tanks are doing massive damage to the enemy and are retreating."

    Player 2: "No problem."

The ability to speak with allies would make the game that much more fun to play. It would also ad more reality to the game, since even now, allied nations send messages to eachother for reinforcements and reports on the condition of the front.

    i voted yes, because:
A)Speaking would allow you a hands-free way to communicate with your allies.
B)Communication would not only be easier, but faster and more comprehensible than "omfg mah bade ia yndrr attacl!" (typos)
C)It is much more enjoyable and interactable with the verbal communication in a game.

Only a mod can do either of those things so i would suggest either reporting this thread or PMing on of the mods with what you want them to do. The disscussion could defintely continue in this thread but keeping all disscussion about one topic in one thread does keep things cleaner and more people informed of other people's opinions.
