    Well it looks like it's already time for another StarCraft 2 beta patch. This time it looks like Terran has gotten a huge buff and the Protoss have taken another large hit. The Protoss Mothership has been significantly reduced in terms of HP and strength. Its cost in build time and food allocation has also been raised. This is good news for anyone who has been Mothership rushed (myself included). That thing was just impossible to kill and completely destroyed anything in its path. And then it promptly recalled itself home. Now it's significantly weaker and doesn't have that option for a cheap escape.


    In addition the Zerg Corruptor received a +2 damage boost against massive units which should make this unit even better against Battlecruisers, Colossus, and Motherships (woohoo!). The Protoss Chronos also saw a reduction in its duration and most of the useful Terran buildings have had their build time reduced fairly significantly.
    Perhaps even important, the Terran Banshee now comes with the cloak ability. This will make the unit far more deadly out of the gate and more achievable.



    Overall I think these changes are farsighted and will benefit the game as a whole. I think Terran, if anything, may have just become the most powerful of the three races short of very late game. But this should help overcome the ridiculous cheap-ness of the Protoss late-game Mothership + Carrier + Warp Ray + Stalker combination.

    Can't you just research the cloak ability sooner, not get it out of the gate?

    Terrans are gonna be rushing like it's their job with the reactor time building decrease.

    I just want the Zerg to be able to counter Marines + Marauders + Medivacs.
    It is almost impossible. If I can manage to get Brood Lords + Corruptors, I can beat them, but the MMM combo comes way earlier than I can get those beasts. Other than that, the slightest chance is with A LOT of micro, Using Infestors to Mind Control the Medivacs, Fungal Growth on the infantry, careful flanking with banelings, etc.. Even with all this, Stimpacked Marines and Marauders usually kill everything before I can touch them. As a Zerg player, that is very frustrating to me.

    :p Protoss just getting nerfed and nerfed. Mothership is becoming crap now.. wheres all the crazy cool **** like black holes and lazer beams tearing up the terrain that we saw months ago? it is suppose to cost a crap load of resources but tilt the win in your favor, cause if they can afford to build a mothership (where these resources could be spent in so many other ways) then at least have it be one of those "dude that thing is so terribly strong" without being REALLY op obviously (as in 1 mothership = win for u) idk it would be so much cooler :p. Terran does seem really strong atm..how does Blizz not see this.

    I think blizzard loves terran :)
    All the good stuff and ideas, goes to terran.
    All nerf and bad ideas, to zerg and protoss.

    Mothership now is an Arbiter :(
    Infestor abilities are trash.
    All the good protoss and zerg concept ideas was remove it.

    I am happy that terran looks great, but what about the other races?
    Now Recall ability it will bring balance problems.
    Becouse protoss have: Colosos, Stalker, Warp Prysm, Warp Gates, Recall.

    With all that, Stationary defences are useless.

    @ Angel,

    Are you kidding? All the cool mechanics went to Protoss. Warp-In, Time Bomb (removed), etc. The Protoss are the favored children.

    P was the strongest race til this last patch. Now I think it might be T. Z definitely needs a buff.

    But don't EVER think T is the favored child lol.

    This is part of the main article of the front page. I think it's best to just state the news/facts of the front page and keep all opinion in the forum. And yes what I quoted is opinion cause it starts with "overall I think". And what you think is an opinion. I agree with your opinion. But I feel it's not the right place for such a discussion.

    And the title of the front page part is Latest Starcraft News and not Starcraft opinions and discussion.

    I dont like this idea. It'll force others to rush detection because you know many terrans will just Banshee rush. With decreased building times, they will be able to get banshees out incredibly easy and would be hard to counter unless the opponent has a dedicated anti-air army. As of right now, toss have problems countering banshees since they rape stalkers and the phoenix is too weak to be useful against them unless in numbers.

    Uhhh... Photon Cannons? Detection + Anti Air...

    Zerg will suffer a lot more from those Banshees...

    I don't think so. Zerg can upgrade their Overlords into Overseers once the Lair is finished. which Zerg should have for quite a while before Terrans gets Banshees.

    Overseer's are quick and easy to make at least. I'm glad you can upgrade them from any hatchery after a Lair.

    + 100 minerals for the Overlord. I think people are saying its expensive mainly because of how little it does. Can detect cloaked units, and able to spawn a Changeling, oh and maybe provide 8 supply... It lost everything else.

    True, I guess I never really had an issue making a handful of Overseers. So far I've rarely been attacked by cloaked units anyway. Maybe that's why I find it acceptable haha.
