All that needs to be said for this patch is Thor now how anti-air splash damage! Woo-hoo! But seriously, we suggested that. Other changes in here of note are a decreased in Psi Storm radius and a general decrease in damage bonuses across the board. It looks like certain hard counters are being eliminated somewhat. Enjoy!

Seems like Blizzard is just playing with the HP/damage values of certain units again to see what works and what does not work. Good ol trial and error in action here.

good patch but the only one i can"t see being good was the roach one (they need to make it a bit cheaper) unless tier 3 becomes more viable for zerg.

I can see what they are doing with roaches (tier 3 made burrow mechanic usless but but I think speed upgrades for roaches need to effect burrow speed too) but if you want zerg to hit tier 3 I think blizz needs to make it a bit easier to go to.

On a side note I think mauraders need a bit of their range and the slow gernade made into a small upgrade instead of them comeing with it straight off the press.

I also went to team liquids site and their are so many people whineing befor acully seeing the changes in action. blizz knows what they are doing so qq ca chu.

Some of these patches seem like some children were let loose in the office. Besides, there are much more important issues than mere numbers. D-8 charges come to mind, among others.

The Thor special attack (the big canons on its shoulders) should also give splash damages to ground units. See a group of mass marines. Use the special attack. Target ONE marine (you have to select a target) and this marine will die, not also the others next to him.
    Weird.

It seems like Blizzard finnaly has taken some steps against mass mutas. Missile Turrets finnaly seems usefull and Thors splash damage vs air makes them stronger even through the damage is decreased, making them even more uselss vs capital air. About Banshees, I am not shure what the difference makes.

Protoss Photon Cannons also makes them little more usefull since the where almost useless before.

Zerg Spine Crawlers suddenly seems better too and Spawn crawlers also seems more viable..

IMO Thor's 250mm Cannon ability should be able to target air units. That would definitely make it a decent counter to capital air.

@the8thark: I thanked you for having an Earthworm Jim avatar. That alone nicely sums up my child hood along with StarCraft :D

Back on topic: I think cannons probably need more a buff or they won't be used. I can't comment on the actual balance but I do think they'll be less used than in SCBW.

Also, about time they started nerfing the Roaches a bit more :D

I agree with the fact that this is trial and error imo, tbh i don't think psi storm needed the nerf.. units were fine as it is.

It's not really a nerf.... 2 to 1.5 isn't a very large reduction. And it still has smartcasting which in itself is ridiculous lol

I agree with the storm nerf. I've used it against some Zerg and annihilated them. Instead of feeling like I had dome something, I just thought "Wow, that was too easy,"

Yeah psy storm like roach's regen meant that for very little effort your opponent had to madly micro (probally same reason hunter seeker got the nerf boot before beta). Good to see storm requires a bit of aiming however it is sad to see the end of the roach dream of having a unit with high combat regen *tear*.

Huge buffs to static defences (Well zerg can move theirs...) is good to see as well since they all felt quite UP. Missile turrets massed will now be OP against carriers though since before the patch i destroyed every interceptor very quickly defending that northern island on scrap(?) (Unless those are armoured?) >>

Thor got splash XD still need to test it against mutas

i have a question about the roaches upgrade, they said it no longer grants regen, if thats the case what does it do now? or was that upgrade removed completely?

It upgrades regen, but only while the roach is burrowed.

I like that they are increasing static defense buildings, will make rushing a bit harder to pull off.

I think roaches will always remain ridicilously strong as long as they cost what they cost right now and have 2 armor and 145 hp. That alone is a pretty powerful units right there even if it were to lose its burrow and the utilities that go with it.
