RANDOM Story I was going to enter this story comp but i entered another one which was really just a shot at the consolation prize. “Sir I’ve finished putting rubber collars on all the Zerglings†said a marine “Hell it’s about time†stated the sergeant “the damn scientists would just about be able to re-invent the computer game pong before you finished†the marine replied “I’m sorry sir it’s just this hyperevolution caused by a purple half moon in summer made the Zerglings rather difficult to deal with.†“I don’t want to hear any more damn excuses out of you private, your going to take these Zerglings to the scientists lab for their experiments†the marine interrupted “But what about…?†the sergeant finished his sentence “Yes you’ll have to bring leapy as well†the marine broke a tear and manage to get out the words “but I’ve know leapy since he was a lava, wondering if he should be a mutalisk or Hydralisks, above all the zerg units he chose to be a Zergling. And if that’s not enough he lost his twin brother to a defiler with an appetite†the sergeant shouted “Enough, your bringing all the damn Zerglings to the damn science facility or I’ll shoot the damn Zergling myself†the marine replied “yes sir….†the marine grabbed the leash of the six Zerglings including leapy and started heading for the science facility. Leapy was hesitant but was forced to come along. The marine along with his six Zerglings arrived at the science facility, he knocked on the door which was quickly opened by a scientists “Have you got the specimens†asked the scientist excitedly. “yes, could you please put them down painlessly? I’ve grown attached to one of them†replied the marine. “yes yes yes of course, I can assure you this is a painless test and the specimens will not be killed. You can leave now private†replied the scientist. The marine shut the door and started to walk off, then he stopped suddenly and turned around. I forgot to say goodbye to leapy he thought to himself. He knocked on the door but there was no reply, he decided to open the door and see what was happening. What he saw next would torment him for the rest of his years. “LEAPY!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING†yelled the marine as he saw leapy presenting on the examination table the the scientist huddled over leapy’s body “ YOU BETTER EXPLAIN WHATS GOING ON HERE FREAK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BELOVED PET!?†“Well you see my friend, we are trying to develop a new terran/zerg hybrid and this seems to be the most simple way to do it. And due to the zergs hyperevolution we should see the result soon†explained the scientist. “YOU FREAK YOU DEFILED LEAPY! YOU’LL PAY FOR THIS!!!!†yelled the marine. In a drunken rage the marine grabbed his rifle and emptied the magazine hitting everything but leapy and the scientist, the five other Zerglings lay in a lifeless heap. Seeing the scientist still alive angered the marine further he picked up two Zergling carcasses and beat the scientist to death, when he was done he dropped the Zerglings seeing nothing but fear in leapy’s eyes. He picked up leapy and headed back to his barracks. “My dear leapy are you alright?†asked the marine, the Zergling responded with a half hearted grunt “it’s ok my friend, we’ll get through this…†leapy’s stomach began to swell, her condition was worsening and the marine could not stand to see this, he just stared at leapy and then the unexpected happened. Leapy cried with a loud screech and then exploded. The marine and his room were covered in blood. All that remained of leapy was the bi-product of the scientists experiment. A figure was on the ground the marine approached it and gently put his hand on it’s shoulder. “What are you?†he asked the figure jumped up and stabbed him in the throat and cried out “My life for Auir†and ran away. The figure became clear to the marine as he drew his final breath it was a zealot. The marine passed away in a pool of blood. Medics arrived on the scene having no idea what had happened. It was drawn to a conclusion that leapy had morphed into a baneling and self destructed which sent a Zergling spine flying into the marine. The terrams and zergs remained clueless about the true cause of the protoss, and as this event was seen only by the deceased marine the universe will remain clueless.
Interesting story. Next time could you punctuate it nest time and remember that long dialogue gets its own line.
