I thought it was ok, coulda have been much better IMO.

Should be a relatively interesting series.

I thought it was OK, the other 2 series had much better pilots, but so far the premise seems sound, I am not instantly hooked like I was with SG:A, but I'll watch it some more and see how it turns out.

David Hewlet, aka Meredith Rodney McKay made Atlantis awesome. Actually, the scientists were the best actors, imo. Never really liked the soldier types, except for Rainbow (don't remember the character name, but he was the enzyme guy). Ronon was ok too.

The thing that got people to like it most was probably the link to SG-1. Now both shows stopped, and I find it hard to believe that the Universe series will interact with previous ones. That being said, I think it will need to become very interesting for people to watch it. I mean, how can there be a main villain in this show? Boring!

I have to agree, the characters on Atlantis were much more compelling than what we have seen on SG:U so far. I especially don't care for the one guy who got recruited from a video game. Seems to me like they just stuck that in for the sole purpose of appealing to the young adult, white male crowd SyFy has recently been selling out to, and Rush is just a prick (at least McKay was an interesting prick)

my favorite stargate seasons had to be SG1 season 2-6 and SGA season 1

I loved SG1 for its secondary races like the replicators, the tok'ra, the nox and the aschen. Still think they missed an opportunity when there was no Tok'ra on the atlantis team
and i loved SGA season 1 for the wraith, they were really scary and menacing back then. In the later seasons it was easier to take out a wraith then a human.

I always found that strange as well. Those wraith soldiers were weak in the end. As for the Tok'ra not being in an SG team: why is that a bad thing? I didn't really like them. T'ealc was good enough. Also: that would mean they would have those healing gloves all the time. A bit overpowered, if such a term can apply to a television show.

One thing about Wratith tech: they could have done so much better with that. The ep about the hallucination device was quite interesting, but the others weren't that good. The one where they fight on Midway, for example. Or The Seed, where the infected person tries to turn Atlantis into a hive. It could have been so much better.

Biggest disappointing story gap: the lost tribe. One ship got away, but you never saw it again. Vegas wasn't that good either.

Hey you guys like SG series huh? Tell me if this sounds familiar

    They get captured/kidnapped
    They escape and go home

    the end.
Thats pretty much the outline of every episode.

You could say something similar about just about any show that is a series out there. That general format isn't what is interesting it's the way it plays out in any given episode. Do you like House? Any CSI? Either NCIS? Any Law and Order? Lie to Me? All of those have a general format that is followed just about every episdoe, so if you like any of those you just became a hypocrite. There are lots of other TV shows that have a similar trait, if you don't watch any of them then you probably don't watch a lot of TV shows in general, but feel free to humor us.

Further, SG teams rarely get captured. And if it happens, then it's not always the same group, and almost never all of them.

Further, there are always extra storylines to follow in those capture episodes. Add to that the main storyline and character development, and no episode is the same. Compare that to other series, and you'll discover that Stargate is awesome.

Lastly, I highly doubt that Jshep has ever watched multiple episodes in a row.

nah, saying someone is the best at failing means there are very wrong.

where as someone that is bad at failing is when they are closer to not failling.

    If that makes sense.
