On battle.net forums, there is a Zerg discussion about starting a game with 1 creep tumor. Others have suggested that the queen start with 50 energy so can spawn larva and spread the creep when newly made. According the OP, this would help deal with early rushes, harassments, and allow zerg units (even the queen) to reach their fast expo or ramp safely in early game. EDIT: Someone else suggested that Hatcheries should spawn ONE, and ONLY one creep tumor. Just thought I'd throw that in. I like all three of the ideas (NOT ALL IMPLEMENTED, BUT ONLY ONE). I don't see this as overpowered, but rather convenient. In my opinion, if this were implemented, it would feel more like a defensive buff and not one that pushes towards ling rushes. What do you guys think? http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/608631505
I agree it sounds more defensive...which isn't like the zerg. Still! hmm How about a queen with 40 start energy? so u have to wait a bit...
Giving Queens 50 starting energy doesn't sound too bad actually. I wouldn't mind seeing that implemented in the future. My brother recently showed me an article on the Zerg's current situation, and it had some cool ideas. Something like allowing Creep Tumors to morph into/produce defensive structures around them for a resource cost (which would cut down on Drone sacrifices). It was an interesting read, and if I can find the article I'll post it here. EDIT: Found it!
50 or 40 energy sound awesome to me i just loooove spreading the creep all around the map and i like to do it pretty early but i also REALLY need my larvae for drones and army
Either or would be awesome, I think that it would make sense and fit into the lore though if hatcheries did spawn a creep tumor. It would also help zerg defend against early rush. You'd be able to have more vision early on, and since zerg is the only race that cannot wall-in, it would be nice to get some fast creep to a ramp to be able to throw down some spine crawlers for defense. I usually try to do this, but sometimes (especially on maps that have a long distance to the ramp) my queen can't get a tumor out fast enough for me to spread it to my ramp and "wall in."
