For some reason, it never occurred to me that there would be brand-new maps that weren't available during the Beta.

I was only just getting used to all the maps at the end of Phase 2, so it's interesting to have so many more to learn about now.

So, I wanted to start a discussion about the characteristics of the new maps and which ones you think favor which race (in the way that a map like Incineration Zone TvZ tends to favor Terran).

    ~War Zone~

After getting ROFLstomped during one of my 2v2 placement matches, it's quickly become the map I'm most interested in figuring out.

Allies share the same ground, but their starting locations are farther apart than other joint-maps like Twilight Fortress.

    There are three choke-point ramps:
    1. Middle ramp is unblocked and relatively wide. If only one ally is Terran/Protoss, it takes longer to block off.
2 & 3. Side ramps have destructible debris and allow enemy access to each player's respective natural expansion.

All ramps are far away from the starting locations, and from one another as well.

How are people playing this map? My losses were to opponents who coordinated their attacks to occur simultaneously at two different ramps. My wins happened by blocking off just outside my starting location and using the mobility of Air units to help cover the long distances.

are you blocking vs. t/p? I wouldn't bother blocking unless it's a small ramp and your playing z as t, if your playing 2v2 especially ti's better to have mobility to attack and ou shouldn't be facing any disadvantages in unit production if they have to travel + attack and your just holding a choke point
