    Hey guys,

    new here, names Lion

Anywho Im really excited for this game and I just looked at the system requirements and I wont be able to run it. So upgrade time...

Im really poor right now so this is my best option I think:

    Dell Inspirion

What do you guys think? I really don't have that much money and I know my old rig will not run it ever.(6 year old dell bottom of the line)

Thanks for your help/opion, Hope this is the right area of the forums for this,

    Lion

    I think this is a bot. :)

But I don't really think dell would do anything like that since they can get the customers attention in other ways...

I'm no expert in the field but an integrated graphics card is really something to be avoided, along with Celeron processors. And fully built computers too, for that matter. My advice would be to sell your old computer and basically anything you're not attached to :D then sit down and read up on what to look for in the various parts, or consult an expert in this. And then buy parts that you or a friend or even a tech for some change would assemble.

And just to make sure we nail every aspect of this computer.

They sale you 1 DIMM of memory that are suposse to be Dual Channel (which is suppose to come in packages of 2) Really weird......

ON board videocard to avoid completely, because the ram will be taken from your computer ram instead of dedicated on video card ram.
Short: less ram for your computer, and slower ram on the card.

I would avoid Vista as much as possible. I heard about Windows Seven for 40$ if your a student with your school email address(not sure about that) But still I'd wait for Seven, it's a lot more stable.

And a hard drive is a hard drive. All my computers got Western Digital hard disk drive, they are not costly and they provide a good quality drive.

You should browse the forums, some builds were previously made for tha game and they came out at a decent pricing, you should definitaly check that out ;)

I get Win7 and Office 2007 for free, only paying P&P :) in 64-bit, too. Agreed with Vodka, you should look around for such discounts. Maybe you know a student who wouldn't want their cheap official copy, if you yourself are not a student.

    Thanks!

    Thanks guys,
I have a copy of windows 7, not worried about software.

I really appreciate your advice! I will go to a friend of a friend to see if he will help me make a build from scratch for me.
He helped build a 2 grand computer for my room mate... 8 gigs of ram and 4 core processor or something. Hopefully he doesn't mind doing a cheap build.

And no Im not a bot guys haha.

A good IT technician is not the one who builds a top machine. It's the one that build the machine that fits your needs.

@VodkaChill: Dual channel means that it supports the motherboard feature of reading from pairs of RAM as opposed to triple or singles. It has nothing to do with two sticks coming in a package although it definitely should for efficiency.

Just as a rule of thumb, odd (as opposed to even) amounts of sticks of RAM are not efficient as even. By the same rule, matched RAM is infinitely better than mismatched. In most cases a 1+1GB setup will preform better than a 1+2 setup. Even if you're running a 32bit setup, 2+2 will preform better than 1+2, even though your OS will READ the same amount.

Don't buy laptops with 3GB of RAM.

Except for triple channel i7 builds where 3 sticks / 6 sticks / 9 sticks are the most efficient.

I've always been told that matched RAM is always superior.

Unless your mobo has three slots? Also, how do you get 9GB of RAM? Wouldn't it be 3, 6, 12?

EDIT: Nevermind, you said sticks...I thought you said gigs. Amount of sticks don't matter, just the gig-age.

Well they do usualy sell packages of rams since in 2 for dual and 3 for triple, since it has a better cost/perfomance anyway.

Haha. Just kidding. Vista is alright I guess. I just think W7 and XP are much better.

It looks like it... maybe not at high settings, but probably smooth at medium. Depends how strong that video card is. If you look around on google there are min requirements and recommended requirements for it already confirmed by bliz
