The use of giant insects against the Protoss and Zerg have proved useful and cost effective. It seems that Siege (Stag) Beetles prefer hanging out with other Siege Beetles as evident in the picture provided.

    lol, interesting.

when the terrans controlled the young overmind, they were also working on a secret project to recreate the zerg for thier own use, thus the Terran Stag was created.

After thier defeat at the hands of kerrigan, the blue-prints to creating the Terran Stag were lost. However, recent exploration has discovered the prints created by the terran scientists and quickly worked on recreating the Terran Stag to fight against the zerg forces.

If any ultras get near it, it wrestles it to the ground and tries to throw it. Same with other beetles, and Protoss Collosi.

It releases clouds of stink gas that enemy bio units are effected by, causing massive damage.

You can also conveniently lock it in a small airtight ball for easy transportation

Which is pointless after you upgrade it to have wings.

Or is it? A swarm of these would easily be spotted from distance, but with the balls a few ghosts could get them into the enemy base.

I got the stink bug, the stag beetle, and pretty much any insect with the wings.

Yes, but so do almost all insects.

I have never seen a stag beetle or a stink bug fly, ever.

How hard have you been looking? :p

Stink beetles definitely can. Stag beetles definitely have the means to, but I'm not certain that all of them can.

EDIT: Just checked, and stag beetles definitely can as well.
