Is it partially because of new mods arising?

You mean to simple and boring. :p
Tip: play as a mage, and set the game to like, halfway between medium and the hardest difficulty. If you really have to use those buff spells and such, then the game gets a lot more interesting when it comes to combat.

Fallout 3 game of the year is finally coming this week. Jay. It was sold out when I was going to get it last time. Hope I won't be late now. Free expansions. :D

Not really. Most the mods I'm using are just updated versions, or new versions (FOOK2, MMM4, that sort of thing).

I think it's just cause it's the most sandbox game I've ever played. I love the setting, I love the do whatever you could ever possibly want aspect to it. Wanna save everyone? No problem. Want to wipe humanity out of the capitol wasteland? With the exception of about 7 people, go right ahead.

Oh gawd, don't tell of that Fallout also has those quest characters that you can't kill. I once had that captain of the guard in Oblivion chasing of around the map for a full day in the hand until I finally had upgraded my magic high enough to stun him. It was so very, very annoying. (Especially since I had to talk to him at that moment for a thieve's guild quest, and the I couldn't get to the Bravil dojen with all those guards following me right after the captain passed through the gates.

Gotta love those bugs Bethasda always manages to never fix.

It's not a bug per say, they don't want to have you kill a character and break the game. Basically, only a few main quest chars are essential in Fallout

Good. There were way to many essentials in Oblivion. :/

If you play the PC version (And you should be) you can set them unessential via the GECK. It's not a good idea with a few characters though. In one part, your dad runs across about half the map. If he wasn't essential, he's prolly be killed and BAM main quest is busted.
