I never was in an actual fight. 250 lbs at 6'2" probably scares away potential fighters.

I've been in a few fights, nothing major though.

I personally find violence abhorrent if practiced frequently. I approve of self defense, but not attacking, as I believe that it is an uprising of a primal urge that civilized races should subliminate.

I would like to point out that the urge to mate is also primal. The only part about it that is not primal is the pleasure humans feel, however, dolphins, porpoises, and platypus (?) also experience this.

I have been in two fights; in the first, I was attacked by a random kid at my school who had anger management issues; I was suspended simply because I punched him back; but in the police report I was considered the victim; in the second, I was attacked by a random gangster kid who claimed I said something about his mother; it was the last day of school, and I really didn't want to engage in anything right before my summer (was about to go to a soccer tournament), so I told him I would not fight him; he punched me twice during our conversation, both times rather weakly (no blood was drawn, and I didn't flinch from any pain) after which he walked away, as did I.

I've both attacked, and been attacked multiple times.

I've been stabbed and cut too.

The Fighter in me says he likes swords.

I'm a pacifist, sorta. I like watching fights like martial arts, where it's mostly set up. I don't enjoy watching people get hurt though.
Myself I've been fighting few times, but it was never really serious, some 'differences' between classmates is all ;)

I have never attacked or really been attacked, but have already been threatened and thought about possibly attacking some people.

I will probably not feel frustrated if I had no fight at all in my whole life, but let's say I try to be ready if someday I have something important for me (or is it "to me"?) to defend.

I was quite the angry little butt munch as a kid - just pretending to make fun of me would set me off. The earliest fight I can remember is with my sister when we were both very young (5-7yrs), which ended with me hitting her over the head with a plastic T. Rex, hard enough that the end of the tail broke off.

Now I just tend to stick to the wise-ass approach when someone is giving me lip. I will attack them if they are trying to physically harm me or my friends, however.

Most of what that guy was doing, doesn't actually work when the person has a real knife.

The getting out of the knife to throat bit he did, would be slitting your own neck.

I don't believe in an eye for an eye. I believe in two eyes for an eye.

I haven't been in any full blooded fights. I was thought to have been in one by a teacher when I was having a bit of a rumble with a mate. Tried to give us an arvo, but we both shot him down and never heard from him about it since. But yeah, no fights. Being a pacifist I guess I've just never gotten into any situation like that. Not that it prohibits it, but not being aggressive would certainly reduce the odds.

I have got a few good stories from some people I know, though not about fights specifically. My English teacher a few years back once told us how her husband, who was a huge Māori, once cut someone off at a roundabout or something, and the guy who was cut off absolutely sat on his horn. Her husband stopped the car, still in the roundabout, and just sat there. The other guy kept beeping him and got out of the car, still honking, and started shouting abuse, as you probably would in that situation. Then her husband simply stepped out of the car and turned round to look at him, and when the guy saw what he was dealing with he swiftly retreated back to the safety of his car. Haha, I certainly laughed. :D

Another thing, more along the lines of being mugged than fights, but still relevant, is when my Sensei was young, she, and some friends if I remember correctly, decided to test how the way you held yourself affected how you were treated by the other pedestrians. She's really short, though strongly built, so she didn't have any height advantage or anything, and each time walked against the flow of people at a busy time of day, and carried a couple of bags with her as well. Firstly, she walked really hunched, looking downwards, etc, and everyone was just bumping into her and pushing her around. Next, she tried walking down again, though this time acting really fidgety, nervous, over-anxious, and acted overly protective of the bags she was carrying, if you can kinda picture how that would look. It was pretty much the same deal as the first time, but someone actually grabbed one of her bags and made off with it. Lastly, she walked down really confidently, shoulders back, head up, etc, and she described it as the Red Sea parting before her, haha. But yeah, no-one bumping into her and pushing her round, and no hassles or anything. Just goes to show how your stature affects the way you're treated by others, so, basically, be confident when you're walking. Not suer if it's really relevant, but thinking about fights, etc, reminded me of it, and it's useful regardless.

Oh, oh. Also, a mate's (marinefreak's) brother was onced mugged on a train, where apparently he was forced to hand over his wallet and phone, and when the mugger saw how old his phone was, he handed it straight back to him. Now, that's funny!

    No fight yet.

I was bullied when in high school. I've been mostly passive. The guy was about to steal something from me. I was pissed as hell. I grabbed is wrist when he was going for my locker, and hold to it pretty firmly. He was not ready for that, he looked at me with a terrified look. There were a lot of people watching. I raged so much that I did not see anything else than his eyes.

People told me afterward that he was shaking and that it took me 30 long seconds to release him. They all thought I was about to hurt him really bad. I still don't think that I look intimidating at all, but people that were present that day told me otherwise. Never been bullied since then.

How that would intimidate someone I don't know.

That would just make me PO'd.

But then again, I am not petty thief, I wouldn't steal anything from your locker.

Grade Nine, every day, in the morning, at my locker, buttmunch ( For lack of a better expletive ) kid thinks it funny to push me into my locker as I'm opening it, getting my books for the day. I'm pretty passive. I'd do what I could to avoid a fight, and if it came down to it, I would probably get smacked around pretty badly. Well, anyway, one day he slammed me into the locker hard, harder than usual, and my face smacked against the door, causing my piercing to tear a little bit, which set me right off. I tend to sort of just sit there and take that sort of stuff, but that day must've been special. I basically whipped around, grabbed the kid by the collar, lifted him up as best I could, arm shaking, and looked him dead in the eyes before turning back to my locker. It was pretty satisfying, the hallway falling dead silent as I worked on opening my lock.

Not really a fight, per se, but definately a confrontation of sorts. Probably the only time I've gone toe to toe with somebody, in recent memory, that didn't end up with me being kicked into the dirt. As I've said, I'm a passive guy, and I prefer cracking jokes to throwing punches, but there's always those certain types of people that just make you want to get to fightin'. Of course, my looks tend to deter anyone from wanting to pick a fight with me, so, I'm thankful for that XD
