The world of comics is doomed. Walt Disney wants to buy Marvel Comics for $4 billion. I found it bad enough to see Square Enix getting raped with Kingdom Hearts, but nobody touches Marvel! Seriously, Batman fighting together with Pluto? No way. What do you guys think of companies buying others, and then blending two brands into a new one? I personally think it sucks. Especially in this case.
Hmm, true. An older single man, living with a young boy in a tight leather outfit? At least we know for sure Pluto likes females. I have nothing against gay people, but I do hate pedofiles. Oh well, I guess all heroes have to wear tight outfits to show their muscles and all that. But still, I'm not very comfortable with how many things have been "disneyfied" over the years. Everything they produce always must be so cute, that small children will want to give the action figures a hug. I just hope McDonalds sets the Human Torch figures on fire. If I see a little girl introducing him to her other dolls, I will set the girl on fire. ;p
I just love the backwardsness of the idea of Batman. First of all, Batman, a vengeful all-but-mute who wears a pitch black costume covered in spikes and always attacks at night, lives in Gotham, and fights so-called 'villains', such as the Joker, and Riddler, who are highly happy-go-lucky characters who dress in bright, colourful costumes and are always either smiling or laughing. Anyone else picking up on a certain vibe here?
i might note that batman is a DC character and thus owned by warner bros, not a marvel character and thus owned by disney. But i am not really expecting anything bad from this, disney also puts out gillmore girls, lost, desperate housewives, the kill bill movies, etc. So its not like every brand they own turns into a love&hug-fest Im just expecting the profits to go to a different pocket, maybe some more child-oriented movies, but no change in the movies already planned(which are 13 if i recall correctly) oh and of course marvel toons on the disney channel edit: at first i thought 4 bill was kinda low, but then i realized that the rights to spider-man, x-man and fantastic four movies weren't owned by marvel
That art was awesome. And Marvel just needs to buy DC, so my noob comic knowledge gets covered up. Meh, I'm happy enough with knowing most storylines and characters. As for Kill Bill: those were Tarantino films. Nobody can make those a failure. Anyways, I just don't like Disney for buying Pixar and all those other succesfull studios. In the long run, they'll all get the talent sucked out of them, and then get discarded. They are the EA of the film industry. And for those who don't believe me: Westwood -> Red Alert, Westwood + EA -> C&C 3.
Ok, not his best work. Still better then most other movies in those genres. (admit it, Deathproof wasn't that bad) Dunno why, but while typing this, I really feel like watching Sin City again. Might be the ubercool camerafilter.
