You people have all heard about ghosts, but are they real? There are many, many different organizations trying to find ghosts, most are fake, but some are actually real. The evidence that the real organizations find is usually less significant than faked evidence, but sometimes you get really interesting evidence such as: full body apparitions, significant object movement, or sounds/voices that come out of nowhere. So, do you guys believe in this stuff? If so why? If you don't believe it, why don't you believe it?

I don't believe in ghosts because they are supposed to be souls AFAIK, and I don't believe in souls.

I believe they exist because there are so many things that people have experienced that it can't naturally be explained. Something like a chair moving by itself skeptics will just make up an excuse that someone used string and pulled it. Yes, that's a possibility but what if you're working with a very trustworthy person/team? Most skeptics just need to have their own paranormal experiences to be a believer. No, nothing ghost-like has happened to me yet, the only thing was that my closet door opened by itself one night. I had closed the door before I went to bed, and in the middle of the night, I woke up to go to the bathroom. When I got out of bed I saw the door was open and I was sure nobody had been in my room after I went to sleep. My closet door cannot move on its own, a gust of wind will not move it because when you close it and then it latches, it's very hard to turn the door handle and then get past the wood that juts out in the door. Scary...

There may be some things that people have experienced that can't naturally be explained, but that doesn't mean there's a logical explanation behind it. In the past there were other events that people could not naturally explain, notably eclipses and rainbows, and many myths and religions had 'explanations' for them. Nowadays we obviously know that rainbows are created by light refracting off the vapour in the air and eclipses are created by the alignment of the Earth, Moon and Sun. Before people knew this, some believed that rainbows were a promise from god while others believe it was a mythical beast. Some believed that eclipses were also happenings of the gods, etc. Just because there's isn't a natural explanation it doesn't mean that there have to be ghosts or any paranormal beings.
As for your closet door, there could be a few very possible explanations. First off, perhaps it didn't latch close that night? That often happens with both my bedroom and bathroom door even if I think that it's latched closed. Even just the air flow from the bathroom fan can open the bathroom door if it hasn't been closed properly. Second of all, maybe you just forgot to close it that night and you're remembering the night before or something. When people are tired, have just woken up or have gotten out of bed in the middle of the night, they generally aren't renowned for their clear thinking. Thirdly, you could have been sleep walking and opened it in your sleep. Especially if when you first wake up you walk over and open your closet, it's a very realistic possibility, even if you're not a frequent sleep walker. Lastly, it could have all been a dream. Some dreams can often be quite realistic. About twice per week when my alarm goes off I drift back off to sleep and dream that I've gotten up and am getting ready for school, etc, then about five to ten minutes later someone bursts and tells me that I've slept through my alarm. When I'm actually in these dreams they're incredibly realistic and not like all the imaginary ones you always here about. I'm still thinking a bit but I have absolutely no knowledge that I'm actually still asleep until I'm woken up. A similar thing could have happened to you.

How come in almost all of your posts you write so much without any spaces?!?!?

Anyways, no I don't sleepwalk. I never sleepwalk. And the closet door cannot be opened by a breeze I told you, even if the door wasn't latched, the door cannot move without a sufficient amount of force being pushed on it. No, I didn't forget to close it. I always close my closet door right before I sleep.

You having a realistic dream... Wow, lucky! Were you aware as in could you control your thoughts and movements?

Ghosts? I really don't believe in 'em. Even if I see one, I wouldn't say that it was "a soul of the dead who hasn't crossed-over yet." I would say it was only a hallucination due to some physical problem of some sort.

I believe in evil spirits, which they disguise themselves as fallen loved ones.

I find it odd that you just say 'I never sleep walk'. How do you know? You'd be asleep. Also, keep in mind that you don't have to be a chronic sleep walker to do it, and when sleep walking you do a lot of things habitually. If you open your closet each morning or each night, then it's something that you'd be likely to do while sleep walking.
You say that it's impossible for your door to be blown, even if it is not latched closed, but if the wind blowing in the right direction, with the spring of the latch and even the weight and dimensions of the door, it's entirely possible for it to be opened, even if it looks unlikely otherwise.
I also find it hard to believe that you remember to close the closet door every night without fail. No-one's perfect and there are bound to be nights when you forget.
Maybe dream wasn't the right word to use as it gives the wrong impression. It's not like a typical dream. It's feels as though it's just like you're actually doing it. It's also not as though you consciously move or make decisions either, it pretty much just happens from a first-person perspective. I can't explain it properly as it's hard to explain but there have been several situations where I've convinced myself that something's happened, usually just a conversation or something, but when I talk to whoever it was about it later, they have no clue what I'm talking about.

we all have our routines, and we mostly can do our routines sub-consciously, thus we can do it without thinking

Thats what dumb people do. If they dont know how something works they say god did it. The same goes for ghosts. So far science has busted every single anomalies such as raining fish or the *light at the end of the tunnel* and I dont think its gonna lose anytime soon.

I dont understand people that believe in that sort of... stuff. Its just ridicilous.

So I'm ridicilous now, nothing new I guess...

    By the way:
"Death: Humans need fantasy to *be* human. To be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape.
    Susan: With tooth fairies? Hogfathers?
Death: Yes. As practice, you have to start out learning to believe the little lies.
Susan: So we can believe the big ones?
Death: Yes. Justice, mercy, duty. That sort of thing.
Susan: They're not the same at all.
Death: You think so? Then take the universe and grind it down to the finest powder, and sieve it through the finest sieve, and then show me one atom of justice, one molecule of mercy. And yet, you try to act as if there is some ideal order in the world. As if there is some, some rightness in the universe, by which it may be judged.
Susan: But people have got to believe that, or what's the point?
Death: You need to believe in things that aren't true. How else can they become? "

First of all, learn how to spell ridiculous guys.

@ ItzaHexGor... Well, you may find it hard to believe that I close my closet door every night, is because it is never open! I close it at night, as it should stay closed the whole day. Every night I check if it's closed or not and close it if it is open. How is it open? I probably just went in there to retrieve something. I don't sleepwalk okay? I just don't. Don't say "How do you know?!?!"

@TheWorker... You need to have an open-mind. You need to be able to see things not only from your perspective but from other's as well. Say there really are such things as miracles... Or ghosts. I'll give you an example. Say a chair moved on it's own and you have video of it. Skeptics will just say, "Oh some friend of yours pulled it on a string." But what if you knew no one was with you, and checked around and found no one. Won't you feel frustrated that the skeptics just make stupid excuses such as "Oh, the wind blew it."

@UrsaWarrior... EXACTLY!!! Like you said, the world is vast an some parts of it untouched. Let's get bigfoot for example. We catch it on film but no one believes in it still!

@Religious people in general... I'm not trying to start anything here, just trying to make a point... Religious people who don't believe in ghosts, why do you believe in angels and demons? Heck, why do you believe in God, who you've never seen and don't even know if it's real...

I'm not trying to start an argument here, just making a point. Stay on topic guys!

I only retyped what Worker said as far as spelling goes

Actually I think it'd be reasonable for religious people not to believe in ghosts. Since according to Christian religion souls of dead people enter either Heaven, Hell or Purgatory one could say that there's no option of a soul staying in our world.
Others could say that it stays as a way of purging themselves though.

As you can see it all makes sense in a religious-hypothesis-sort-of way

    What's Purgatory?

And maybe the "soul" of the person was trapped here somehow.

It's a place where souls go to atone for their sins if they're not so bad as to go to Hell, but don't quite fit in Heaven yet. Also from Purgatory you can only go to Heaven, not Hell

You wanted to know about religious people and by mentioning Heaven and Hell you hinted at Christians. I was just trying to describe how they see it. They'd know it from prophets and Christ's teaching.
But these go into other topic I think

View it from my perspective then, if they were real what would you do? You need to be able to see things from all different point of views...

I could just say, your a bunch of nonsense but is it true? (Yes)

Even if (you think that) this is nonsense, it doesn't mean we can't talk about it.
