So the time for me to chose the direction of my further studies has come. I've decided to study in the UK (England or Scotland), no offense USA but I am not looking forward to getting shot 2 days before graduation.
There might be some people here who have experience with the universities that I am interested in applying to or simply UK universities in general and I would appriciate if you could offer me some feedback.
Currently I am looking at these universities:
    Cambridge (Philosophy)
    Oxford (Philosophy, Politics and Economics)
    UCL (Philosophy)
    King's College London (Philosophy)
    Leicester (Physics and Astronomy)
    Glasgow (Astrophysics)*
University of Aberdeen (Natural Philosophy and Physics)*

*These are Scotish universities and from what I heard the tuition fee is already covered for all EU students. Can anyone confirm this?

Just a heads up, a Philosophy degree is useless unless you're planning on going for the Ph D and teaching it.

I don't plan to do physics nor philosophy to get a job. It's fun.

...do your parents know this? :D

A friend of mine attended university in Scotland about 2 years ago. There was a good deal for student loan with something like only having to start paying back a year after graduation with minimal interest, but it wasn't covered. Of course it could've changed since then. I don't know how much Scotland has devolved so far but England isn't exactly liking its guests so I wouldn't count on the tuition fee being covered even now.

Before going abroad, think about what program you want to go into, how much money they make, the demand of the job, and obviously if you're actually interested. Do not judge a university based on rep and make sure you can pay the tuition in the near future, because going abroad to study cost a LOT of money.

I have no other choice but to go study abroad so there is nothing to think about there. :)

You're looking at it the wrong way. College is a financial decision and nothing else. You don't go to a good college because it's a good college, you go there because attending a good college will make you more money. Therefore that extra money is worth the added investment of a more expensive school. If you can also have a good time and have a growing experience at the school you pick, that's a secondary benefit. But it's not what you look for right out of the gate.

You have to weigh these issues. You can't just go out and pay $60,000 a year in tuition for a degree at a highly rated institution only to come out making $40,000 a year. It's just not a good idea. That's how people get into bankruptcy.
