I was just thinking, given the propensity for violence among multiple small nations (IE Middle East and parts of Africa), how well the 'US' would get along without a unified leadership, meaning every state is it's own entity, not part of anything larger. Would sense of duty to help neighboring states still exist, or would larger states try to take over other to increase their size. I'm not saying any.....Alright fine. Texas, I'm looking at you. We have all these stories, you know, Utards cleaning up Katrina, firefighters from Montana helping the Cali Wildfires....Would this kind of stuff happen if there was no 'official' obligation?
I think everyone is after power. And by power I mean they want to get as many resources as they can. To complete this they need the mines to get the resources. For this they have to hunt down anybody who stands in their way. And when they got the resources, the area, and the power, they use it to get more. This was the goal Of the oold Roman Empire, and the World Wars... Unfortunately humans can't learn from their mistakes.
