we all know the man of steel, the hero who keeps having extra powers added to him.

Which power do you think Superman should lose?

for me it'd be atleast super-ventriloquism, its not only the lamest ability ever, but its also freaking lame

Ah good old superman, his own strength almost destroyed his comic books. They introduced kryptonite because he needed a weakness. I don't really think he needs to lose any abilities so long as more kryptonite comes into play.

I haven't seen Superman since I was a kid. But I've always wondered what would happen to him if he became an Alcoholic. Ooo new future weakness, substance abuse!? o_O

Other than heat vision, flying, and super strength, I'm not sure what else powers he has. I don't think the Family Guy joke of the Silicone S counts from the movie counts.

    All of them.

He's like the worst superhero ever.

His superness. Oh wait, he already lacks that. I saw the latest movie -returns- on Dutch tv yesterday. It sucked.

I think he needs to loose the breath stuff. Always a simple solution for fires and such things. It leaves almost no room for creative disaster scenearios.

both alcohol and smoking dont affect him due to his super-lungs and superstomach(this is actually canon)

originally (1938-40's), in the golden age) he had:
strength (enough to lift a car)
speed (about as fast as a train from those days)
immunity to small firearms and some artillery
and in the radio-version, he could alter his facial expression slightly (Not comic book canon though)
    the powers slowly increased though

    in the silver age (40's-80's)
    planet-mover strength
immune to: EVERYTHING, except kryptonite and magic (Everything includes the cores of stars and black holes)
x-ray vision, telescopic vision(Interstellar), microscopic vision(up to subatomic particles), bigger elektromagnetic spectrum seeable
no need for food air or water
could hear things from miles away and at ultra and infra sonic wavelengths
    freezing breath
    super-ventriloquism(Range of miles)
    super intelligence and memory
    no hair or beard growth
    mastery of combat arts

his powers were reduced again in th elast 15 years though, now he can "only" move dwarfplanets, he needs oxygen each couple of hours,, and he needs to shave.

i am talking about silver age superman though

I still and always will like the golden age of super heroes. They were the best.

But, erm, why did he not just look at Krypton then in the movie? Or is that canon screwed up?

for that he would have to know where it was, and if it was within range.

Also, movies dont count as canon, but rather as an alternate universe(Marvel even gave it a number, normal marvel is 616, movies are 100005)

did anyone see wolverine origins yet?

    Not yet. Was it good?

And since Superman is DC, I wasn't sure if they had the alternate universes as well. But he knew where it was, at least in the movie. Earth astronomers spotted where it was, and he flew straight to it.
So the movie denied the canon regarding his powers.

Well it's good enough for them to say they want to make more x men origin movies. As well as give deadpool his own movie. The game kicks a$$ I know for sure.

My choice of losing power is flying, so he can be miserable like up stuck in the traffic jam like all of us!

Either that or lose the ability to just use a pair of glasses as a disguise.

Also: that ridiculous hair thingy on his forehead has to go. It looks sort of cool in the comics, but in the movies he's just asking to get kicked by random people.

I havent really read any recent comics(seeing as i started with the comics from the sixties, and the only lines i follow are marvel zombies and ultimate marveL) so my knowledge of deadpool is kind of limited

I never read any of the x-men comics, I only watched the cartoon series and the movies... oh and I played all their games. From what I heard though, Deadpool is a mercenary who can steal the mutant powers of a mutant he kills.

i saw x men origins. day it came out. it was orgasmic, the level of violence, fighting, and just general blood and explosions. did i mention the violenece? oh...did I mention it was freaking AWESOME? it was like the best day of my life, i've never seen a movie as actiony. it also had a plot and kickass trechery, not to mention the funny little quirks now and then that made you laugh. I really liked the movie, just almost everything about it except that it was so awesome on the big screen in the theatre it made my eyes hurt a bit, but if i ignored the bleeding in my cornias, it's awesome. seriously. go watch it. do it now.
