hi, i thought i were no noob because i played sc1 a lot, but apparently i am because i'm constantly losing (except when i hit even worse noobs than myself whom i can kill with a zergling rush). toss and terran tend to wall themselves in in a way that i cannot crack with banelings (most geht killed b4 even hitting their target). and then i'm normally running short on ideas on what to do. normally i try a hydra drop but most times people have too much too sophisticared machinery and just kill my troops. so i have three questions: 1. what to do if you cannot enter an enemy base with lings and banes? 2. is the roach of any use? against which units can it be utilized? 3. what other options do zerg have beside the ling/bane assault (and muta rush)? this is really hard for me and help would be much appreciated. it gets boring either meeting opponents who are so weak that it takes no effort at all to kill them or being defeatet (probably w/o effort by my opponent).
Roaches are pretty good against ground units, and can move while burrowed, you can use this to sneak inside the wall-ins and kill some scv's and cause general mayhem, and while he moves to kill them, you attack his main entrance. Surely, I am still not done with my placementmatches, but this has worked pretty good so far for me
If you are trying to do a baneling bust against Terran, you should send a couple of zerglings in front of the banelings in order to absorb the first few attacks. Besides dropping with Overlords, the Nydus Network is really good. You don't need creep for the exit. Simply have your overlord right outside their base with vision.
thanks for your replies! but generally: what other strats do you (as zerg players) have? you can't all rely on banelings/zerglings...
Can burrowed roaches move under buildings? Just curious, never tried. But yes, nydus worm is awesome. If you find a hole in an enemies base, stick a nydus worm in there. If you divert the enemies attention away from the nydus worm area, you'll have a higher chance of a successful sneak attack
Noe, they cannot And vs terrans a good mix of hydra/roaches/lings and throw in a healthy amount of banelings and you can counter most of their units, Fe into muta harras is not to bad either vs them, and if you cannot defeat them early on or it goes into mid game, the damned Neural Parasite and Fungal spore is Amazing vs terran. Or damnit many games i've just won by massing lings/banelings and micro the banelings away from the damned Maruaders and close into the marine's.
would you wait with your first baneling attack until the movement speed of banelings has been upgraded?
