whats the best for free forum hosting?
i want to create my own forum[FOR FREE]but i not sure if the one i already think is good is good enough[i want it to be like this forum E.G there is a portal,Arcade,Forums,Avatars,Post count,POst rank, and a shop [NOTE:NOT PLANNING TO COMPETE AGAINST SC2FORUMS]...

I agree with PC99 (yay abbreviations!) on invisionfree.com - very easy to set up and use.

www.ipbfree.com has the most customizable forums, and all of the above is possible, if you spend your free plugin points correctly. I can help you to learn stuff. For an example, visit eatmereturns.ipbfree.com or www.usfalliance.tk (same website, different domains...) I am the only administrator with access to the design with that forum, and I designed the entire thing by myself (except soviet_gore provided images... Gore on those forums).

 

I'd try ZetaBoards. I've not used it much, but I'm really experienced with InvisionFree, and ZetaBoards is that with many upgrades, including the avatar gallery. And there's always Thunder Arcade for an arcade, if ZetaBoards doesn't have one, which it might not.

Also, if you need any help with anything, I can do a lot of cool stuff with InvisionFree, so I imagine, I'd be able to do a lot of neat stuff with ZetaBoards, since it's just an upgrade to InvisionFree.

 

You can actually edit all of the code at ipbfree!

 

Hmm. I used that once, but, really, I got so confused, even though it's basically InvisionFree with more options.

 

There's a LOT of stuff you can do, but it's not presented well. I can help get anybody who wants to use it started. It is, in my opinion, the most powerful free forum host.

 

I heard MyBB is pretty damn good, though I could never figure out how to use it >.>

InvisionFree can do that, but it takes a lot of codes, so it'd make it lag.

ZetaBoards would probably have at least a few of those things, though. And it also has the ability to embed web pages into it easily, so even if it doesn't have any of those, they could easily be added.

And for chats, I'm not an expert, but you can try SpinChat. It's decent, at least.

 

I've been using http://www.forumotion.com for a very long time now and it has never failed me!

Zetaboards is OK I guess, but personally, I think you should go with Forumotion.
