I thought about it once....then I decided I wanted to read a book that had an actual deep philosophical meaning to it, so I read the entire Divine Comedy
oh god the wheel of time. more like the waste of time. the only good thing about that series is how well the title fits it. it just keeps going on and on and on and on and you feel like you've been reading it forever when you've really only read a few pages. I mean a wheel using people's lives as thread as if the world was some kind of garmet? wow, just wow. Plus all the vague simplistic names for things like "the Dark One," "the Dragon," "the One Power." Gee, I've heard ALL those before. And the whole thing about finding a champion of the "Light," talk about overdone. Plus if the "Creator" was just going to imprison the "Dark One" WHY create it in the first place. Or, better yet, if you created everything you surely have the power to take SOMETHING away. "OH wait, I didn't want that... well, f**k I'm stuck with it now." Plus there was the guy who got turned evil by the "Dark One" and killed everyone around him. I KNOW I've seen that before. And having the only person able to save a world being the one most likely to destroy it is such a lame suspense device... OHH and the abbreviation is tWoT which sounds like another very funny word. ... ... ... Na, I'm just kidding. I read part of the first book it was good. Haven't had the time to finish it.
Yeah, it's very long winded. He spends pages describing Goddamn dresses. Other than that it rulez. Epic battles, political intrigue, cool philosophic ideas (Herid Fel Rulez). And some kickass names. Oh, and he didn't get turned evil, he went nutso. Lews Therin Kinslayer. Yeah. Kinslayer. Pimp. EDIT: Oh, and the Fades kick Nazgul ass. Does for me. And Fades have like 500 names.....Such as: Fades, Eyeless, Halfmen, Myrddraal, and Twisted Ones. Nazgul just have that and Ringwraith.
