In the placement matches i was put into the silver league (1v1) but i think i'm more like bronze or copper player Anyway, i'm mostly playing against gold/platinum players... never played against a silver player in a quick match. And my stats are getting crappy, because the players are way out of my skill level. I've only played this game for a week, and i never played the first Starcraft game (which i should've...) Will the stats ever reset, like in warcraft games? Do i've to buy another game just to make a new account? I don't want to have 1:10 ratio on my account.
Don't worry the ladder system will knock you down to bronze soon...though its still quite buggy >>. I think blizz said they will "reset after each season" though that was ages ago. From what i've seen after enough games you'll get down to a 1:1 ratio i think the problem with you is that your up against high ranked players so the ladder system is pretty much ignoring those losses =/
Well in 2v2 random I got placed into Gold and then promoted to Platinum. Most of my wins were cause of my teamates, and now I'm getting owned every 2v2 game.
I landed in Gold Rank 20 after my first 5 3v3 games however I got tired of having idiots for team mates so I stopped playing the quick matches. I'll be the first one to admin my micro skillz suck at the present moment and until I sharpen them like I used to have them back in SC1 I'm going to wait until I play the 2v2 and 1v1 quick matches. That's cool though so you can get promoted or demoted into different ranks depending on how you play. I was wondering that myself, if you end up in Gold do you stay there until the next season or can you go up or down.
Id like it if they reset the stats after each season. I'm happy with my placement and where I am but it would be nice for the points to all reset so that the guy in 1st some guy with 300 wins 250 losses while second place 100 wins 60 losses
To be honest, I do not think he meant 'season' to have anything to do with Starcraft 2. I think he just meant Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Each season, you get a new reset. Correct me if i am wrong?
If they reset that often there'd be no point in even starting to rack up points and wins. Ladder seasons are much longer, but I don't know what determines them. Does anyone know if the reset is imminent? Do you think it can be expected with patch 1.2? It already brings lots of changes so it'd make sense. Perhaps.
A season is the time between ladder resets. The time it takes for each reset is different for every game(and for some games ladders do not reset at all), but afaik, sc2 ladder will have such resets like 2-3 times/year. I don't think the first one will be with the next patch since there should be an announcement before that normally. But that's just a guess...
I am 99% sure it will be the next patch, notes for which are floating around somewhere, its already on the public test region. I heard a rumour it would be sometime the week before Christmas as that's just after the end of GSL3 but before GSL4 starts qualification i believe.
