When cruising around the web for a bit, I found this. This is a list of, what should be, the hardest games of all time. But there are of course games in the that, for some, do not belong there. *1: Ninja Gaiden series (Tecmo) *2: Ghouls n Ghosts series (Capcom) *3: Battletoads (Tradewest) *4: Mega Man 9 (Capcom) *5: Ikuraga (Treasure) *6: R-Type (Irem) *7: God of War (SCEA) *8: Devil May Cry 3 (Capcom) *9: Defender (Williams) *10: Contra series (Konami) *11: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) *12: Doom, nightmare difficulty (ID Software) *13: Mushihimesama Futori (Cave) *14: F-Zero GX (Nintendo) *15: Shinobi (Sega) *16: Guitar Hero series, expert difficulty () *17: Bionic Commando Series (Capcom) *18: Portal (Valve) *19: Gauntlet (Atari) *20: Tetris (Various) *21: Metal Slug series (SNK) *22: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Nintendo) *23: MDK 2 (Interplay) *24: Viewtiful Joe (Capcom) *25: Ice Climber (Nintendo) I personally think that both Portal and COD:MW do not belong on the list. F-Zero GX on the other hand. Master difficulty and very hard in story mode almost broke my will to ever gamd again. On the high difficulties, that is. What do you guys think? Note: F-Zero GX was actually made by Sega for the most part. I just put Nintendo there because it was on the list.
I assume portal only made it on to the list because getting the highest rank with the limited number of steps/portal challenges is nigh impossible. COD4 on veteran is also at times impossible because if you make a mistake you are stuck dying again and again because you got surrounded. Imo Stronghold: Crusader should be on this list...its crusade trail is just crazy i did like 20/50 then just gave up
Stronghold Crusader: Extreme should be. I tried the first level, and 10000+ enemies swarmed me. Crusader original is okay. I got to 30/50 or so.
bro...Megaman 9 is never hard. Bosses and stages are repetitive...all you needa do is play the game a couple of times...read the enemies movements and bang..easy as counting 123. maybe they are refering to "first time playing" sorta thing. Metal Slug is the same. Play it a couple of times and its easy as.
I think they are just talking about the hardest parts of the game. I found it quite interesting, though. Take Viewtifull Joe, for example. The game itself wasn't that hard to play, it was how it made you think: you see a platform, just a little to high for you to jump on, and a floating platform that is kept like that by a fan. It took me quite some time to find out that I needed to speed up the time, that caused the fan to speed up and the platform I stood on went up. Genious. This sort of diffuculty in a game is innovative, and so the place on the list is justified. I thought that this could make a nice discussion. :/
hmmm, i think portal would be hard considering getting gold medals for -least amount of steps -portal making -least amount of jumps Some of the puzzles require 20 steps, each time you land from a portal, you take 2 steps.
Hrm, they picked Doom from ID? I'd almost say Wolfenstein 3D on the highest difficulty. Three shots and you're pretty much dead. Then you have to find your friggin' way through the hellish labyrinth of ONE LEVEL.
Yeah, but Doom prevented cheating on the nightmare setting. Anyway, anyone played F-Zero GX? I managed to get all tracks and beat them on master, most staff ghosts beaten, but not al missions on very hard. Almost impossible to do. And the new megaman let you try again if you failed. The old parts made you start over iirc. So: were those harder to beat?
